Innaugural Rhinebeck Bioblitz!
The weekend of 25-26 September, we held a Bioblitz within the town of Rhinebeck. We recorded 150 observations and had a scavenger hunt for families. To learn more and see some of results, look here.

Youth For Nature
Youth are facing two existential crises at once: Ecological and Climate Breakdown.
In pursuing climate action, political leaders cannot forget young people and they cannot forget nature. We are empowering young people around the world to mobilize for nature and climate and hold our political leaders to account on both the climate and ecological crises. Hudson Valley Wild is working with youth for Nature to build their US and high school age membership. They are doing amazing work. Learn more about them and join the movement!
Youth Manifesto #ForNature
2020 and 2021 must be Super Years for Nature - Years when the world negotiates and renews its collective commitment to protect nature.
Nature underpins all life on Earth: it provides the oxygen we breathe; the water, food, materials and medicines we need to survive; and the jobs and livelihoods we need to thrive. Nature also provides solutions to help curb ongoing planetary emergencies. Nature-based solutions contribute to climate action and to conserve biodiversity and ecosystems, thus helping prevent future pandemics such as COVID-19.
To all the youth and youth movements around the world, we have a simple request: help us remind global leaders that we need greater commitment, ambition, action and accountability #ForNature now.

Drawdown Eco Challenge
Rhinebeck won second place in the Drawdown Eco Challenge out of 1100 teams! Woodstock Day School came in first place and Red Hook and Bard also came in as top scoring teams. Congratulations to all the teams in our region and keep up the good work. You can still consult the resources compiled by the Rhinebeck Eco challenge team at their website.

A Great 2019!
It was a busy fall as we participated in the Global Climate Strike, UN Youth Climate Summit, Drawdown Learn, the Youth Climate Change Summit at the Wild Center, helped support the launch of the NY Student Climate Coalition and joined the Rhinebeck Climate Smart Community Task Force.
We are thrilled to have been able to advance biodiversity and climate issues through panels, exhibits, conversations and in meeting new people and partners committed to these issues from all over the world.This is just the beginning.
