Fire Escape Certifications

Due to new regulations added to the 2018 International Fire Code, fire escapes require structural certifications every 5 years to be performed by a Professional Engineer. Though this is a big deal for fire safety, the requirement was not very publicized when it went into effect. For this reason, many property owners are being surprised with fire escape violations for not having them properly certified!

Hudson Engineering has extensive experience resolving fire escape violations and can work with you and the Fire Code Official to stop the fines from piling up.

1 - Evaluate

An initial evaluation of the fire escape is performed by one of our Licensed Professional Engineers. A report is produced with the repair requirements for certification.

Hudson Engineering can also coordinate with the Fire Code Official at your request.

2 - Repair

Hudson Engineering's initial evaluation report will contain the required repair designs for your contractor to follow and execute. We will also work with them to make sure the job is done right.

Don't have a contractor? No problem! Hudson Engineering has partners in the industry for you to choose from.

3 - Certify

Once the repairs are complete, one of our Licensed Professional Engineers will perform a final inspection of all the repairs and issue a fire escape certification.

We will work with the Fire Code Official to ensure any and all fire escape violations are resolved!
