The name of the team shall be the Huddersfield Corsairs Flag Football Team, also referred to as “the Corsairs.”, “the pirates”, “Pirates”.

The mission of the Huddersfield Corsairs is to:
• Promote non contact and inclusive versions of American Football, not limited to flag football and walking football in Huddersfield and surrounding areas.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive sporting environment.
• Support personal growth, fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among all members.
• Represent the community in local, regional, and national competitions.

Section 1: Eligibility
• Membership is open to all individuals of all ages, regardless of gender, race, ability, or background.
• Members must complete a registration form, agree to abide by the team’s code of conduct, and pay any relevant fees or dues.
Section 2: Rights and Responsibilities
• Members have the right to participate in practices, games, and team events.
• Members are expected to attend regularly, represent the team positively, and respect teammates, coaches, and opponents.
• Members may vote in elections and propose amendments (if aged 18+ and active for at least 3 months).
Section 3: Termination of Membership
• Membership may be revoked or suspended by majority vote of the Committee for misconduct, failure to pay dues, or violation of the code of conduct.

This is our overall ambition, while we build towards this structure we endeavour to have major decisions regarding the club go through a process of approval through the founders of the club.
Section 1: Leadership Committee
The team shall be governed by a Leadership Committee comprising the following roles:
• Team Captain’s – On-field leader, liaison between players. Founder’s and committee.
• Head Coach – Oversees training, strategy, and player development.
• Team Managers – Handles administration, communications, and scheduling.
• Committee members – oversee the direction of the club, support the growth and sustainability of the club.
• Treasurer – Manages funds, fees, and budgeting.
• Social Media & Events Officer – Manages team promotion and events.
Section 2: Elections
• We plan to hold elections are held annually at the start of the season. Once we have stabilised the club further details will be added.
• Any active member may nominate themselves or another member for a role.
• A simple majority vote shall determine appointments.
Section 3: Vacancies
• If a position becomes vacant, a special election may be called or an interim may be appointed by the Committee.

• A General Meeting/AGM will be held once per season to discuss plans, finances, and concerns.
• The Leadership Committee will meet monthly or as needed.
• Emergency meetings can be called by the Captain or two Committee members.

• All income (fees, sponsorship, fundraising) and expenditure will be recorded and reviewed by the Treasurer.
• The team may charge seasonal dues, subject to approval by the Committee.

The welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults is paramount.
All participants should be treated equally and with dignity.
All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to appropriately.
We expect all members, volunteers, and coaches to:
Show respect and fairness to others at all times.
Avoid bullying, intimidation, or harassment of any kind.
Report any welfare concerns to the designated Club Welfare Officer.
Maintain appropriate boundaries and avoid inappropriate relationships or communication.
Use social media responsibly and respectfully.
The Huddersfield Corsairs will appoint a Club Welfare Officer (CWO) who will act as the point of contact for all welfare-related matters.
CWO Responsibilities include:
Promoting a safe environment.
Ensuring this policy is known and followed.
Acting on concerns or allegations sensitively and promptly.
Liaising with appropriate external agencies as needed.
Contact details for the Club Welfare Officer will be published on all official club platforms and visible at training sessions and events.
All concerns about welfare, safety, or conduct should be reported to the Club Welfare Officer or a trusted team leader as soon as possible. Concerns may include:
Suspected bullying or harassment.
Inappropriate or unsafe coaching practices.
Unsafe playing conditions or equipment.
Any form of abuse or neglect
Reports will be handled confidentially and with respect for all parties involved, following recognised safeguarding procedures.
