The school will be held in the beautiful city of Pavia in Italy. The event will be hosted by the University of Pavia.
HOW TO REACH PAVIA
BY AIR: The city of Pavia is easily accessible from the airports of Milan (Linate, Malpensa Terminal 1 and 2) and Bergamo (Orio al Serio). In all cases you need to reach Milan and from there continue to Pavia by train.
MILAN LINATE (50 km)
Linate airport is connected to Milan through underground M4. The currently active stations are: Linate Airport, Repetti, Forlanini Station, Argonne, Susa and Dateo. Trains leave from the Linate and Dateo terminus every day from 6.00 to 21.00 and provide a ride every 7 minutes. From Dateo is possible to reach Pavia station in just 35 minutes on Train Line S13
MILAN MALPENSA ( 85 km)
TERMINAL 1 and TERMINAL 2 are connected to Milan through numerous buses / trains. Pavia can be reached from Milan by train (Trenord - Trenitalia).
ORIO AL SERIO AIRPORTS (102 km)
The train station of Milan can be reached from the airport by two different bus companies: Autostradale or Orio Shuttle. Pavia can be reached from Milan by train (Trenord - Trenitalia).
BY TRAIN: Pavia can be rached in about 30 minutes by train from the railway stations of Milan (Central, Lambrate, Rogoredo, Greco Pirelli, Porta Garibaldi, North Bovisa) - Schedules and rates of Trenitalia.
SCHOOL VENUE and ACCOMMODATIONS
School venue: the school will be held in the plenary meeting room ("Aula grande") of the Political Science Department at the central (and historical) site of the University, located right next to Piazza Leonardo da Vinci and adjacent to the Cortile Teresiano (green circle). Address: Cortile Teresiano, Via Giuseppe Galliano, 5, 27100 Pavia PV (see also the picture below). You can easily access it also from Corso Carlo Alberto
Colleges: Ghislieri (piazza Ghislieri 5, 27100 Pavia) and Santa Caterina (via San Martino 17/B, 27100 Pavia) university colleges (yellow circles) are both very close to the city center and to the school location (5 min walk)
Other accommodations: Most of the hotels are near the train station (blue circle) at 10-15 min walk from the school location. Some b&b/apartment/guest houses are at or near the city center.
