You can use your phone's mobile data to connect another phone, tablet, or computer to the internet. Sharing a connection this way is called tethering or using a hotspot. Some phones can share Wi-Fi connection by tethering.

Second test

Exactly the same as the first test, except this: I connect the A540IP to the Ethernet port of a hotspot mobile 4G (Huawei Wifi 2 Pro E5885ls-93a) instead of to the modem router. The SIP registration fails.

In conclusion, there is some settings in the PBX and in the hotspot mobile (and maybe in the Gigaset) that are not compatible. Since the registration is possible with some VOIP providers when the hotspot mobile is used, I would like that in the same conditions it would be possible also with my freepbx.

Today I updated my Huawei P30 pro to v12 and the functionality I was using a lot lately is no longer where it used to be. Wi-fi bridge is no longer part "Personal hotspot" settings, as it was pre-12. If I search the setting for "bridge", this menu is the only search result, but there is nothing inside to help me set up a wi-fi bridge. There is also nothing in the Developer options menu that I can see connected to this.

To get back to addressing the original question, an upside of a WiFi hotspot having low transmission power (and thus range), is that you can have more people using them in a public place before interference between each other becomes a problem.

2. Another way is to use this modem as a WIFI router. Now for some reason my laptop does not show this network in the wifi networks list. The network is showing on all my other devices such as Iphone, Android, iPad and Windows pc but not on the mac. Surprisingly it shows on my friends mac but not on mine.

We have tons of experience using Wi-Fi hotspots and reviewing them for HighSpeedInternet.com. So we compiled all our work on this page to help you learn about how hotspots work, how much personal hotspots cost, and more.

Hotspot: A device that gives you a Wi-Fi connection. Hotspots are built into many smartphones, but you can also buy a separate mobile hotspot, or you can access the internet through a public hotspot at a restaurant or park.

Wireless local-area network (WLAN): A set of devices (including computers, phones, printers, and TVs) that are connected over a wireless network of radio and cellular signals. A hotspot sets up a WLAN that provides Wi-Fi

A mobile hotspot usually provides a connection over 4G LTE wireless technology, providing max speeds of around 30 Mbps. But some newer mobile hotspots have 5G capability, so they hit speeds from 50 Mbps to well past 1,000 Mbps in some places.

However, speeds vary depending on the kind of hotspot you have and the cell service available. 5G hotspots reach much faster speeds, hitting 50 Mbps in the lower range while topping out at well past 1,000 Mbps in some urban areas (where millimeter-wave 5G is available).

Search Providers near you Find Providers 5G hotspots5G hotspots are mobile hotspots that give you a connection over 5G wireless networks. There are only a few on the market right now, but they pack a lot more firepower than 4G hotspots.

T-Mobile takes the cake when it comes to 5G hotspots. As we discuss higher up on this page, the Inseego MiFi X PRO 5G is the ultimate hotspot device, with tons of features and powerful capabilities at an affordable price. On top of that, you can also get a flexible and generous data plan from T-Mobile, with prices starting at $10 a month for 2 GB and going up from there.

Technically, all hotspots work for traveling. But some hotspots are designed specifically for traveling internationally, giving you Wi-Fi either through a special data plan or via a SIM card from a local provider.

You can get 50 GB of hotspot data from AT&T for $55 per month. And Verizon is no slouch on the hotspot front either, offering a range of hotspot plans with generous data options at competitive prices.

After exceeding your plan's monthly high-speed allowance, depending on the plan, you have a few options available. You can move to a plan with a higher monthly hotspot data allowance, purchase Data Boost for $35 for an additional 5GB, or continue to use your mobile hotspot at a lower speed.

Turn your laptop into a virtual office, stream live videos over your camera or rock out to your favorite online playlists right from your smart speaker. Mobile hotspots make it easy to connect to the web via your smartphone. And you can make the most of your connection by pairing popular devices like the Apple iPhone 14, Samsung Galaxy S22, and Google Pixel 6 with Verizon, the network America relies on.

Battery life: Your hotspot should be able to last a full workday and give you plenty of breathing room. Though 10 hours advertised run time is the absolute minimum worth considering, the best hotspots can approach 20 hours.

Universal charging: The large battery on most hotspots should also be able to lend a charge to a phone or tablet over standard USB cables, by which we mean USB-C, now the standard for charging laptops and Android phones.

The real reason to get this hotspot, advanced age and all, is the choice of high-usage-friendly rate plans that Verizon introduced in July 2021. But if you want the best prices on large amounts of data, you need to have an existing monthly unlimited plan with Verizon.

You can also connect a device via USB tethering: Plug a cable into the hotspot and the device, and then select Access internet (USB & WiFi)tag_hash_112 and OK in the menu on the M2000. In our tests that method worked on the first try with our HP laptop. The same USB-C port can recharge an external device, but after connecting the gadget in question, you need to remember to choose that option (select Universal Charging on the touchscreen and then tap OK); otherwise, the hotspot will charge from the connected device instead.

New hotspots come out less frequently than new smartphones, and many hotspot models for sale at the big three carriers have been out for more than a year. With both AT&T and Verizon having finally introduced C-band 5G hotspots (which we look forward to testing soon), only T-Mobile is in line to ship a new hotspot anytime soon.

At all three carriers, you can still find older hotspots that lack touchscreens and charge via old-school Micro-USB cables. Those models are now sufficiently far behind the times in their support for LTE and Wi-Fi standards that you should avoid them entirely.

I wanted to know if it is possible to use a Huawei Mobile USB hotspot as an USB modem. The Hotspot model is E5573, on the box it didn't say that ubuntu is supported, it didn't support windows XP too but it worked, the XP computer has no wifi card so we plugged the hotspot into it and the internet on that computer worked, please answer soon

Hot spots are usually working like wireless access points so I think it should work. Just connect to wifi network which is configured on hotspot. Configuration of hotspot is possible through wifi or USB. Check this link as well.

Keepgo provides service in 100+ countries by collaborating with over 500major cellular carriers worldwide. But, keep in mind that in some remote partsof the world you may get weak or limited service, but for the most part thisportable WiFi hotspot can travel the world with you.

I have an issue where if I turn on my hotspot it will automatically stop working after exactly one hour, every time. I have tested this with a stopwatch several times to confirm this is the case. It's becoming a real pain because I'm always on the go and need to tether my mobile internet to my other devices for work purposes.

The way this issue presents itself is odd. The connected devices lose the hotspot connection entirely, however, the hotspot toggle on the Samsung phone is still set to On. If I search for the hotspot I can still find it, and when I try to reconnect it will take a little longer than usual and eventually say "Connected - No Internet". I then have to go back to the Samsung and toggle the hotspot off/on to get it working on the other devices again.

My Huawei P9 fell. Now, no device can connect to its hotspot - two laptops and a phone say "Connection not possible", another phone falsely claimed "Invalid password entered" (and when i removed the password from the hotspot the error message switched to "Connection not possible" as well). The day before the fall hotspots were working just fine.

Also, each time I restarted the phone some settings were mysteriously reset. First I see a pop-up message reading "Some applications require data connection. We recommend hiring a data plan." - even though my provider is being recognized and I have working mobile data. Then, after every restart the 24-h-clock format, the percentage display of the battery, the auto-rotate and a lock-screen setting are reset to default. One time, I changed the SSID of the hotspot and after the reset it was just changed back to default.

After I took out the SIM, I tested if the settings reset happens without SIM. It did not. After that it did not occur again with inserted SIM card, neither. However, the "You should get a data plan" pop-up still happens and the hotspot still doesn't work.

The screen is quite broken, for a while already. Also, the power button was a bit wobbly at times from an earlier fall - so there might be some internal damage. I should stress however that there has been no visible outside damage from this current fall. I suspected the network antenna - but I can use Wifi and mobile data seemingly without issues, so can the network antenna be the cause if only tethering/hotspots are affected?

Mobile phones usually have three network antennas. The GSM, the Bluetooth and the Wifi. I think the wifi network is affected. Wifi might still work on your device but hotspot may not. Try the reseting first. Hopefully you problem may be solvd.

Normally, we recommend those who do not require a high-speed network for short-term travel choose GlocalMe SIM cards, those who require high network speed for short-term travel to choose GlocalMe rental service, and those who often travel and require high network speed choose to buy GlocalMe portable wifi device. ff782bc1db
