PhD Recruiting

I am hiring PhD students to join me at the ECE department of the University of Arizona. Full tuition and fee support, competitive compensation, and adequate insurance coverage will be provided with the PhD offer.

Potential research directions include (but not limited to)

AI Efficiency: Efficient deployment and adaptation of neural network/foundational models.
AI Security: Identifying and resolving issues on AI performance, robustness, fairness, interpretability, trustworthiness, etc.
AI system and SW/HW codesign: Design AI algorithms that are suitable for system and hardware deployments, design system and hardware to accelerate AI deployments.
AI application and optimization: design and optimize AI-based models and systems for emerging applications like autonomous driving, robotics, smart health, biomedical, and other natural/social science applications of interest.

Opportunities also exist for collaborating with other faculties/research labs in the UA, with other schools like UC Berkeley, Duke, JHU, UVA, UMD, etc., and with leading companies like NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and Panasonic, etc.

Qualifications

Self motivated, accountable, collaborative, hardworking, and most importantly, curious and eager to explore and learn
Obtained a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or related area by the time of admission
Fluent english proficiency (for minimal requirement please check the admission website. No GRE required.)
Solid math foundation and programming skills related to AI algorithms and systems
Priority will be given to those with previous research experiences and those who are eager to learn
