We study the biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and emerging organic contaminants in natural and managed soil and water systems. Leveraging the biogeochemical insights, we work to develop nature-based solutions to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, improve soil health, and enhance water quality.
Research focal areas:
Soil carbon sequestration and stability in agricultural and wetland ecosystems
Natural-based solution for mitigating and removing nutrients and emerging organic contaminants in water bodies
Greenhouse gas emissions in agricultural and waste treatment systems
Application of unmanned aerial and ground vehicles for precision monitoring in environmental systems
