Week 6 Reflection: Charades and Group Storytelling
This week, we had fun with charades and group storytelling. We started by walking in sync with a partner and playing charades, which really made me think about how to communicate stories without speaking. This was a great reminder of how much we can express with just our bodies, which is so important when teaching young children who are still learning to communicate.
Playing charades helped me understand how to get children to think about how to express their ideas without using words. It’s a great way to encourage creativity and imagination, and it also helps children develop a sense of empathy as they act out different emotions or situations.
We also worked in groups to find a story to present together. It was a fun way to collaborate, and I realised that storytelling is not just about one person, it is something we can do together. This experience showed me how important teamwork is in the classroom. When children work together to tell a story, they learn important skills like listening, sharing ideas, and cooperating.
This week’s activities made me realise that drama and storytelling are not just fun, they also teach kids valuable social skills. I am excited to use these activities in my future classroom to help kids develop their creativity, confidence, and ability to work with others.
