Will attend TMT-ACCESS at Univ. Tohoku, Sendai, Japan, on 6/10-12.

May

Will present the results of the oxygen ion space weathering on Martian moon candidate materials in JpGU2024, Chiba, Japan, on 5/26-31.

April

Moved to Usui lab in ISAS/JAXA as a JAXA Aerospace Project Research Associate from 4/1.

March

Presented the results of the oxygen ion space weathering on Martian moon candidate materials in Planetary Science Workshop for Youngers, online, on 3/4-5.

Presented the results of the time-gated Raman spectroscopic study on clays, salts, and carbonates in the LPSC2024, Woodlands, Texas, on 3/11-15.

February

A paper about radiation tolerance of planetary LIBS instrument we are developing is published in JAXA Research and Development Report. Free download link is here. Many thanks to co-authors!

January

A co-authored paper about the wavelength calibration of a spectrometer after launch utilizing Fraunhofer lines is published in PSS! 1st author is a grad student in our lab. Congratulations, Shoki! Free download link is here (available until March 4th).

Presented the results of the Raman spectroscopic study on clay minerals at the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Planetary Science on 10/11-13 in Hiroshima, Japan. 

September

Attended the TMT-ACCESS, a cross-disciplinary workshop on future study using TMT, on 9/11-15 at Pasadena, US.

Presented the results of the Raman spectroscopy on clay minerals in JpGU 2023 held on 5/21-26 at Chiba, Japan.

Presented the results of the Raman spectroscopic study on clay minerals in the 82nd Fujihara Seminar at Naeba, Niigata, held on 2/27-3/3.

2022

December

Presented the gamma-ray irradiation experiments for the planetary LIBS (”将来の惑星探査機搭載を目指したレーザー誘起ブレークダウン元素分析装置の開発：硝材のガンマ線照射試験" (Development of LIBS instrument for future planetary missions: Results of the gamma-ray irradiation experiments on the optical glass materials)) in the Takasaki QST Science Festa held at Takasaki (Dec. 6-7). 

September

Presented the Raman work (”Development of a nanosecond time-gated Raman spectrometer for the reconstruction of water chemistry on early Mars”) in the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Planetary Science held at Mito (Sep. 20-22). 

April

Started working as a postdoc at Sugita Lab, Department of Earth and Planetary Science, The University of Tokyo. 

March

Defended my PhD thesis on "Photo-oxidation of ferrous iron: Implications for hydrogeochemistry of early lakes on Gale Crater, Mars" and received a PhD of Science from the University of Tokyo.
