Haley Hsu is currently in her undergrad at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL where she is studying Music Education as her major and History Education as her minor. At Eastern Illinois University, Haley is a part of the Eastern Concert Band, Eastern Symphonic Band, NAfME, the Panther Marching Band, and chamber. She currently holds the position of Principal Flute and mini ensemble leader in the Eastern Concert Band, and recently accepted the position of Staff Administration in the Panther Marching Band. Outside of the university, Haley is also a member of the National Band Association and the National Flute Association. She has participated in the ILMEA District 9 Festival, the Future Music Educators Seminar at IMEC in Peoria, IL, Smith Walbridge Drum Major Clinics, Solo and Ensemble, and multiple marching band festivals. One of Haley's proudest accomplishments as a musician was when she led the Metea Valley Marching Mustangs in Tampa, FL at the Outback Bowl where the band won first place for the Crowd Pleaser Award, Metea Valley's first marching band award in the 10 years it had been opened. Besides the flute, Haley also enjoys playing both the alto and tenor saxophone, piano, acoustic guitar, percussion, and steel pans, which is one of her favorite instruments to play. When Haley is not practicing, she enjoys songwriting and learning about music theory, her favorite class subject.
