Student-Initiated Learning (SIL)

When 

SIL will be starting from Term 1 Week 6 for Sec 2 and 3, Term 1 Week 4 for 4/5 students and Term 1 Week 8 for Sec 1. 

The SIL will run till Term 3 Week 10 for Sec 1, 2 and 3 students and Term 2 Week 8 for Sec 4 and 5 students.

What

(A) Schedule

If your child/ward is in Secondary 1, 2 or 3, he/she can spend 1 hour on HBL days based on the schedule below:

• Term 1 : Planning and Implementing the approved SIL plan.

• Term 2  and 3 : Executing planned SIL.

• All students will submit a reflection ( written / poster / power point etc. ) to share his/her learning journey on the last HBL-SIL session on Student's Learning Space (SLS) at the end of Term 3.

For Secondary 4 and 5 students, they can spend 1 hour on HBL days to plan, implement and submit a reflection by Term 2 Week 8.

(B) Parent's Acknowledgement on child's/ward's SIL Plan: 

The school seeks your support and help in ensuring that you discuss with your child/ward his/her interests, approves his/her SIL plan (with risk assessment) by  the following dates via Parents Gateway (PG). Do look out for the notification that will be sent.

Secondary 2 and 3 : Before Term 1 Week 8.

Secondary 4 and 5 : Before Term 1 Week 6.

Secondary 1 students : Before Term 1 Week 10 before the school holidays.

How

Your child/ward will use Student's Learning Space (SLS) for their SIL.
