The research question answered by this paper is "Whether the impact of Western censorship and their algorithms influences the perception of India", which has been researched by utilising content analysis; a research method that finds and explains patterns in communication data. Based upon these insights, there is an algorithmic emphasis on sensational negativity about India on YouTube versus the more institutional or neutral portrayals on Google. The analysis on this digital tourism highlights how platform personalisation and governmental opinions intersect to fabricate a highly filtered image that can alter the perception of those consuming it. Additionally, foreign influencers are often the lens through which people see other countries, and they spread wider than the locality due to their linguistic advantage. The knowledge that is known from this can help see how this is not done only to India, but to various other countries that go against Western ideology, in turn shaping their perception and foreign relations.
