Through these topics, he seeks to bridge theoretical foundations and practical implementations of AI-driven systems within the context of sustainable and trustworthy technologies.
Dr. Wu has published extensively in high-impact international journals indexed by SCI and SSCI, including IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Sensors Journal, Mobile Networks and Applications, The Journal of Supercomputing, Library Hi Tech, Frontiers in Psychology, Journal of Organizational and End-User Computing, and Enterprise Information Systems. Many of his articles appear in Q1-ranked journals, reflecting the international recognition of his research quality. As of 2025, his publications include numerous papers as first or corresponding author in fields such as blockchain-based network security, AIoT systems, trustworthy AI frameworks, federated learning, and intelligent agricultural and healthcare systems.
In addition to his scholarly output, Dr. Wu actively contributes to the global academic community as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Big Data and Analytics in Healthcare and as a Guest Editor for several special issues in prestigious journals such as The Journal of Supercomputing and IET Networks. He has also served as a reviewer and editorial board member for multiple SCI/SSCI journals. His editorial work focuses on the advancement of next-generation AIoT architectures, multimodal AI, and hyperautomation systems.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wu has been the principal investigator (PI) or co-PI of more than 40 national projects funded by institutions such as the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), and the National Museum of Natural Science (NMNS). These projects cover a wide range of topics, including AI-driven learning systems, AR-based STEM education, blockchain-secured smart agriculture, AI-enabled healthcare platforms, and cross-domain multimodal learning environments. Notably, his current NSTC project (2025–2027) develops an AI- and Augmented-Reality-based STEM learning framework for intelligent cross-disciplinary education, while his ITRI projects investigate enterprise generative AI document modeling and industrial metaverse applications.
Dr. Wu’s contributions also extend to educational innovation and teaching excellence. He has been the PI of multiple MOE teaching practice research projects integrating AI, IoT, and AR/VR technologies into computer science education. His pedagogical philosophy emphasizes experiential learning, project-based problem solving, and cross-disciplinary integration. By developing smart learning systems and incorporating large language models (LLMs) into STEM teaching, he fosters creativity and collaboration among students, preparing them for the demands of Industry 5.0 and AI-driven economies.
In administrative service, Dr. Wu has held various leadership roles that demonstrate his organizational and strategic capabilities. At NTTU, he directs the International Affairs Center, promoting global academic partnerships and fostering international exchange programs with universities in Japan and beyond. Previously, he served as Section Chief of the Research and Development Office at National Ilan University, as Secretary to the Dean at National Penghu University of Science and Technology, and as Acting Dean of Academic Affairs at Fortune Institute of Technology. These experiences have honed his expertise in academic governance, curriculum planning, and institutional development.
Dr. Wu’s interdisciplinary mindset also drives his efforts to connect AI research with real-world applications. He has collaborated with industry partners to create AIoT-enabled agricultural systems, UAV-based monitoring frameworks, and blockchain-based authentication platforms for smart cities. His patent portfolio includes innovations such as beacon-based home care devices, cargo transportation monitoring systems, and vehicle data transmission mechanisms, illustrating his ability to translate research outcomes into practical technologies.
Beyond academia, Dr. Wu plays an active role in promoting scientific literacy and public engagement through the Edison EasyGo outreach program and AI-based STEM educational camps organized in cooperation with the Taiwan National Museum of Natural Science. These initiatives exemplify his dedication to nurturing young learners’ curiosity about science and technology.
In recognition of his leadership and academic achievements, Dr. Wu has frequently been invited to organize international conferences, chair special sessions, and serve as guest editor for special issues on advanced AI and IoT topics. His recent editorial initiatives include “Edge-Empowered Multimodal LLMs for Consumer AIoT Applications” and “AI-Driven Intelligent Science for a Sustainable Future.” These venues aim to bring together global researchers to explore AI’s transformative role across industries.
