My research investigates how pathogens evolve, emerge, and spread through populations. I tackle these questions by identifying genetic signatures of migration and natural selection in pathogen genomes using approaches from genomics, bioinformatics, statistics, and mathematical modeling.

I am currently recruiting students and technician to start as early as August 2019, when I will start my position as an Assistant Professor at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. Please email me (hhchang@hsph.harvard.edu) if you are interested in joining my group.
