Welcome Husky Pups!

About Me

I have taught since 1977 in both the private & public sector, and have been with Gilbert Public Schools since 2008. During this time, I have shared learning experiences with children from 6weeks to 7th grade. I currently am the Kindergarten Prep teacher at Houston Elementary Schools.

My husband & I made Arizona our home in 1984. Our 2 sons went through the Tempe Elementary and High School Districts and are now raising children of their own. My husband is working owner/manager of our small business, which like our home is based in Mesa

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy being with my grandchildren, eating brunch at a local restaurant and/or picking up my white ice tea from Starbucks. I enjoy baking, listening to contemporary christian music, watching University of Michigan football games, doing simple crafts, browsing vintage markets, walking in the leaves during my favorite season of Autumn, watching movies and/or reading books based in romantic settings.

If Your Child Has the Sniffles, Cough, Runny Nose, Congestion.....

If your child is absent due to a family trip, please just text my phone or let me know at drop off/pick up prior to your trip.

If your child is absent due to any "illness", please call the school office and leave a message on the absence line for Nurse Chris. Nurse Chris will talk with you about your child's illness as soon as she can after your call. Nurse Chris will be able to talk with you about the protocol to follow prior to your child coming back to school. If it is easier for you to contact me about an absence due to illness, I will pass the information on to Nurse Chris.

This is different from past school years and I apologize for any inconvenience this causes you, however, within the current pandemic, this is how Houston wants K Prep to handle returning from an "illness".

If your child returns with a runny nose, sneezing, and/or coughing, please send them with a couple of masks. They will wear a mask during the school day, except when eating/drinking. If their mask gets dirty/wet, they will change it for a dry mask.

We will continue to take everyone's temperatures at the beginning of the class session. We will continue to do our best to social distance and keep the classroom clean each day.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation
