Call for abstracts

Abstracts describing recent, current/ongoing work at any level are invited. Young researchers and students at an early stage are highly encouraged to submit.

Submitters may choose between:

  • Full Talks (15-20 minutes) to be presented orally either in person or via teleconference.

  • Poster Talks (5 minutes), which will be "flash" talks given over a submitted poster, to be presented via teleconference only.

Submitted contributions should address novel bioinformatics methods, algorithms, databases, tools and applications for research and development in one or more of the following domains:


  • Population Genetics

  • Genome analysis

  • Sequence analysis

  • Phylogenetics

  • Structural Bioinformatics

  • High-throughput biomolecular analysis

  • Genetics and Population Analysis

  • Systems Biology

  • Data and Text Mining

  • Biological Networks

  • Visualization

  • Databases and Ontologies

  • Personalized Medicine

  • Biodiversity

  • Macromolecular Crystallography

  • Structure of Small Molecules & Materials

  • Molecular Structure by Other Methods

This list is not meant to be exclusive of any further topics as stated above.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse contributions that are not up to the required scientific standards of the conference.


  • Information about the abstract submission deadline and the notification of acceptance for a poster or an oral presentation is available in the Key-Dates section.

  • For each abstract accepted, at least the presenting author needs to register within the required time frame.


Type of contributions


Submissions are limited to 1 to 2 page abstracts and will be assigned to one of the conference topics above. The following contributions are sought

  • Abstracts for oral communications

  • Abstracts for posters

For each abstract, the submitting author should indicate whether it should be considered for an oral presentation, otherwise the Scientific Committee will consider it as a "poster submission" only.


The indication is done within the EasyChair submission system during the submission.

The abstract proceedings will be available before the beginning of the conference in open access electronic form.
