Capacity building of SHGs: This year also in 10 villages of Ambala block of Ambala ( District: Ambala (H.R), the Society focused on strengthening of women SHGs. The objective behind the group trainings was to make the poorer community self-sustainable with thrift and credit activities. Under this process, the organization organized residential trainings for 5 batches of SHG members in head office of the society. In the trainings, resource persons and experts of SHG formation enhanced the information and knowledge level of participants on institutional building thrift and credit practices, CCL, enterprise development, micro finances ect.
HIV/AIDS Awareness Program:
Conceiving the gravity of prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the country, the society has strappingly focused on HIV/AIDS control in the area through awareness programs in urban and rural areas in villages of Ambala by convening different sensitization activities. The targeted community covered in such activities, are; truckers, students, and adolescents etc. With the help of IEC material and Nukkad plays and community meetings the organization has made efforts on HIV/AIDS awareness and control. During such time-to-time activities the doctors and counselors at district hospital have played an important role as resource persons to disseminate the important
Empowerment through Legal Literacy
This year too, time to time awareness camps have been organized by the Organization in colleges, girl’s schools, and villages on gender issue and to inform them about various legal rights and procedures.
The organized legal literacy camps were aimed at:
1. Make community aware of women’s rights and legal provisions
2. Sensitize community to girl’s education
3. Awareness dissemination against social evils like gender discrimination
On International Women Day, a women seminar was also organized at village block ambala The Program initiated with a huge rally women and girls of block displaying holdings, Banners, Boards, Posters, displaying slogans. Taking round and passing through all squares rally concluded at organization’s office. On this occasion, female Pradhans of its working areas from remote villages were honored by the organization for their outstanding tenure.
Apart from this, the organization’s team performed a play on “Domestic violence” theme. By inspiring speeches and songs, an effort was made to sensitize the community regarding the women rights, gender based discrimination. At last, every participant woman wrapped a band in each other’s wrist as a symbol of awareness. The participants in the seminar were NGO people, PRIs, women leaders and representatives and activists, media persons, lawyers, women community of the area etc. Polio Awareness under Immunization Program:
The organization had successfully coordinated with pulse polio and immunization camps organized by health department in 20 villages of ambala District ambala (H.R.). In these camps, the organization’s staff conducted community awareness activities to urge them to participate in pulse polio programs of government. With the use of BCC materials, the organization staff made exclusive efforts to make the community people sensitized about pulse polio eradication. They were also encouraged to bring their children for polio drop intake as much as possible. Through these camps, about 500 children were covered. Enrolment Drive under Child development:
The organization participated actively in enrolment drive campaign in the coordination with Village Primary Schools of 15 District: AMBALA (H.R.). Under this campaign, the organization collected the primary and secondary data related to school going age children, dropouts and children, out of school. Thus to motivate their parents and rural community about the importance of education and school, The organization made door to door contacts with the parents and children and also facilitated children rallies based on the theme of AAo School Chale Hum.
Government's policy to prohibit child labour in hazardous employment and regulate their working conditions in other employment/occupations has not been very much effective so far because of poor implementation of schemes at grass root level. Intervening, the issue, the organization organized an awareness workshop on child rights and legal provision for stopping the child labor in Haryana region. The organization gathered employers, industrialists, educationists, lawyers, like minded NGOs, personnel of labor schools and district labor department and media persons. In the workshop, the participants were made sensitize that children under age of 14 should not be deployed in hazards occupations and whole civil society should initiate a campaign against child labor practices. The emphasis of the workshop also lied on facilitating the basic requirements for development of working children such as education health care nutrition etc.
Qn Sanitation and Waste Management HANSRAJ JAN SEWA SANSTHAN carried out mobilization among waste pickers and households towards the sanitation anrd waste management by creating an action plan and system at community level.

Vocational Training for Income Generation:
The organization has been focusing on imparting optional livelihood trainings to the rural marginalized community especially women and adolescent girls. In this process, the Society adopted a number of more then 5000 beneficiaries (adolescent girls and women) from 3 identified slums of (District: AMBALA) city. During the trainings, the society people imparted trainings to the women community on wall painting, stitching, embroidery, weaving, bamboo and Joot craft, bakery, and beautician with help of skilled resource person. Apart from this, they were also provided some information for thrift and credit activities and loaning from bank and thus got motivation to establish home based small enterprises for income generationAfter the training, the trained beneficiaries were distributed certificates. They were also facilitated with placements and encouraged for establishing home based enterprises as per their respective trades. Under the trainings, the organization also disseminated information related to thrift & credit activities, and how to receive financial assistance from relevant institutions and banks.
