1. Natural Cleft Surface

Slate with a natural cleft finish retains its rough, uneven surface from the quarry, providing excellent slip resistance but can be uncomfortable to walk on barefoot.

2. Honed Surface (One Honed, One Natural)

A honed finish is lightly sanded, giving slate a smooth, matte appearance with good traction, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
