"All G6 to all Gen8 (except BL620c G7 and BL680c G7)and the BL460c Gen9 (no G1 or G5) may be mixed together when using OA firmware 4.11-4.95 and VC firmware 4.30-4.80. OA 4.97,VC 4.85 could be used with the mentioned server mix except G6 series"

I successfully upgraded VC FlexFabric firmware to 4.85 using the VCSU utility on a c7000 blade enclosure. All of the blades and communication infrastructure seem to be working fine. However, I am unable to connect to the FlexFabric management console. The link from the blade admin web page connects to nothing. I used to be able to connect to it. I could not previously make changes, because it requred Flash; hence the update in firmware. I am able to connect using the VCSU utility and query the details of the FlexFabic module. Is this the latest version for the firmware (4.85) and do I need to do anything to enable the management console? Any help or direction would be appreciated.

I confirm that with version 5.40 it is possible to start the migration of the virtual connect.

I'll ask you one last question. I have two virtual connect in stacking links. The test reports only an warning concerning the SMI-S which will be enabled at the end of the migration.

There are certain restrictions which must be considered before you perform any upgrade or downgrade virtual connect firmware. These restrictions can be collected from the VCSU User Guide depending upon the vcsu version you plan to use.

To perform upgrade or downgrade virtual connect firmware you need access to the VC binary file. You can download the VC binary file from the official HPE page. Under "Revision History" you can check the set of different Virtual Connect Firmware available and choose one accordingly. Download the binary file and keep it locally on the system using which you wish to perform upgrade/downgrade virtual connect firmware.

You can use Windows Or Linux to perform upgrade or downgrade virtual connect firmware. Accordingly based on your environment you can download vcsu for Linux or Windows host. Navigate to "Revision History" tab to get the various vcsu utility version.

With VCSU you can downgrade virtual connect firmware to a previously installed and running version of VC. Ideally to downgrade virtual connect firmware it is recommended fro, HPE to delete/destroy the existing VC domain and then perform VC downgrade but with later vcsu versions this can also be done without destroying the VC domain. But this has it's own set of restrictions.

Since last week we have the older chassis on the new place, updated firmware for the chassis and virtual connect and setup the network connections the same way as for the newer chassis which is already in place. (HP 5700 core switch for the uplinks)

The problem now: with the older chassis hardware failover (pulling one of the virtual connect or reset/shutdown via chassis ilo) does not work. But failover with pulling the cables or disable ports from the core switch is working. So all VMs / Blade connections goes down!

the customer had two enclosure, both with two virtual connect flex-10. the first enclosure is been moved to another datacenter and the second is been resetted. The customer hasn't removed the second enclosure from the VC configuration.

Hello. I am running HPUX 11.31 on a BL870c server in a c7000 enclosure. I am trying to change the IP address on my lan3 config which has been connected to our backup network. We are moving it to a new backup network with a competely different IP. I changed the IP for lan3 thru smh and used the subnet mask and broadcast IP's provided and verified. I cannot ping this new IP from any server other server. I tried to add a static route at the advice of a network admin, but it tells me the the network is unreachable. I was told there may be a change that needs to be made to the virtual connect, but i only have command line access to it at this time and cannot find anything that might need to be changed.. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Very curious if anyone can shed some light on the Virtual Connect Manager (VCM) which we are using to manage our virtual connects. Adobe Flash will be disabled by the end of 2020 and I have not been able to find any information on what HPE will be doing about the Flash requirement for VCM.

Hi All, I have two virtual connects that were previously login in OK, but suprisingly I'm now unable to log into both of them with their default passwords. The VCM fails at "Loading...." and I then loose the VCM page.

The best practice for physical connectivity is A1 , A2 ports (any two host ports of ontroller A) to one virtual connect and B1 , B2 ports (any two host ports of controller B)to another virtual connect.

If you are referring to fibre channel connection using 10Gb iscsi SFP or DAC ethernet cable. You may choose either of them and should not make any difference. Ensure that which ever connection type is being used is supported by virtualconnect." ff782bc1db
