Read-a-Thon 2025
Reading Powers Imagination
Reading Powers Imagination
Today's reading activity:
Remember, all reading outside of and during school, including reading done for homework AND if someone reads to you, counts for the Read-a-Thon!
What is the Read-a-Thon?
This is not only our biggest fundraiser for our school, but also an effort to promote the love of books and the joy of reading. To kick off Read-a-Thon all students will get to choose a book to keep on February 13th.
On February 14, students will begin to record their daily reading time in their reading logs and are invited to dress like their favorite gaming character OR book valentine.
What to do:
Ask family and friends to sponsor you during the Read-a-Thon either by:
Making a flat donation (for example, $20) OR
Sponsoring an amount per minute of reading (for example, 1 cent per minute)
Track your pledges on the Pledge Form sent home with your student or go here to register (or scan the QR code) and log pledges online. Earn a sticker prize for registering online and fidgets at certain fundraising goals!
READ, READ, READ! Keep track of how much you read (or are read to) inside or outside of school on the Reading Log calendar. Remember to have your grown-up sign your Reading Log each week!
PRIZES!
As an individual:

As a school:
Our new school wide goal this year will be 65,000 minutes, 5,000 more than last year. If we reach our goal, we will draw a name from the top readers and that person gets to throw a pie in Mr. Severn’s face at our RAT assembly!!!

The logging of time ends the evening of February 28th, with all information turned in March 3-5th. We will not accept any minute logs turned in after March 5. However, any online or cash donations to Read-a-thon will be accepted through March 9.
