Welcome to my homepage :)
I am an Associate Professor at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before that, I was a postdoc at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, University of Cambridge (2019-2021), supported by an SNSF postdoc mobility fellowship. I obtained my PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Zurich (2015-2019) and a BS in physics from Tsinghua University (2010-2014).
My research interests encompass a wide range of topics in theoretical astrophysics, including (distorted) accretion disks and hydromagnetic instabilities, disk-companion interactions, and collisions/encounters between compact objects. My current study (see research page) mainly concerns how planets form, and I tackle this problem with analytical and numerical methods. To that end, I also strive to develop accurate meshless radiative magnetohydrodynamic schemes within the GIZMO code framework. However, we employed smoothed particle hydrodynamics and finite volume methods in simulations as well.
Furthermore, I am deeply involved in the Chinese initiative to detect Earth-like planets, known as the Earth 2.0 mission. Recently, I have also developed a keen interest in studying the dynamics of accretion disks around spinning black holes.
