We will take Midterm 2 this Friday. Midterm 2 will cover everything up to Section 3.9 Normal Approximation and is cumulative. All topics we covered so far could appear on Midterm 2. As a general recommendation to prepare for the Midterm 2, I recommend redoing all homework questions (Homework 2 to 8) and Midterm 1.

Homework 8 is posted and is due 11/4 Tuesday. I plan to cover three more topics, Uniform Distribution, Exponential Distribution, and Normal Distribution, before Midterm 2 scheduled on 11/7 Friday.

We will postpone Midterm 2 date by one week and the Midterm 2 will be on November 7th.

We went over out syllabus, then introduced the Monty Hall Problem.
As an exercise, try to computer P(C2|M4), the probability of winning the car by switching into the door 2 after Monty Hall opens the door 4 when there are four doors in the beginning.
Homework 1 is due Tuesday before the class starts. Please print out the homework, complete it, and hand it in in Tuesday's class.
