I bought a new HP Smart Tank printer direct from HP - it arrived the next day! Pleasantly surprised. But then when it came time to install on my Macbook Pro... it doesn't even look like they make a driver for Macs? WTF.

So... is there a driver automatically built into my Mac, or do I have to hunt for it somewhere? And why in the hell wouldn't HP just create a Mac download version anyway? Okay let me know if you can help, send a link etc. THANK YOU

We have a network user that really wanted an HP inkjet printer, but also would like it on our network. I was able to get it on our wireless network; however since it is more of a home printer, there isn't a Windows Server driver that I can find. All of the drivers seem to be bundled into HP WebPacks, which I cannot install in the server enviroment.

Closest I have got is able to print a job over the network, but just prints out bad output. Is there any HP Universal-type driver that can be used? Something specific to this printer? Or out of luck as it is a home variety printer?

apple never made any drivers for hp printers, hp make those and just send them for testing to be included with a new macOS release if they so chose, think it if apple were to try to make a driver they would have to restort to some reverse engineering which could be a breach of hps interlectual properties

My Smart Tank 530 printer is connected to my laptop wirelessly and has been working for over a year and half. With frequent windows updates (Windows 10 - build 21H1 19043.1165). The printer driver has disappeared. I have uninstalled and re-installed HP Smart program several times but same problem in the end. My iPad and phones are able to connect to the printer via HP Smart easily.

I have a new Smart Tank 7600 printer (HP030174, [Personal Information Removed]). No matter what I do I cannot get it to scan. It always errors and the screen shows a message about 'turning off the scanner and may be damaged, cannot copy or scan'. I've tried the full set of drivers, the basic drivers. each time uninstalling the previous driver package, clearing the c:\HP folder and the ProgramData files, and removing the driver from print server properties. nothing works. When the doctor utility runs it shows an error on 'Device Manager' 'The device manager is reporting an error that requires a restart'. Restarting everything doesn't change anything. The firmware is SAYAPPPP1N002.2215A.00 (the current version).

HP Smart Tank 615 is not just a machine that turns a digital document into a printed one. It is also designed to copy, fax, and scan. It is affordable, it saves space, and it helps cut down on the operating costs, thanks to its smart tank unit.

The biggest money saving feature on HP Smart Tank 615 is obviously the built-in ink tanks which are designed to handle moderate to high volume printing at low cost. It may take a year or two for the printer to need a new refill.

As with most ink tank printers, HP Smart Tank 615 is aimed for business use, but it can also be used for personal needs. If it is used for the latter, it is highly unlikely that the ink needs a refill within a year. You can click the link below to download HP Smart Tank 615 Driver for Windows:

The Web Pack Installation Package method uses the full driver installation package for your printer. This method is dependent on the Web Pack package being available for your system / OS.

If you're using Windows and you've installed a HP driver, VueScan's built-in drivers won't conflict with this. If you haven't installed a Windows driver for this scanner, VueScan will automatically install a driver.

HP Smart Tank 515 is a suitable choice for users who need a multifunction printer capable of wireless printing and equipped with an ink tank unit large enough for printing thousands of times for every single refill.

Smart Tank is simply a marketing term used by HP to refer to the ink technology widely known as ink tank. Instead of relying on disposable ink cartridges, HP Smart Tank 515 uses a built-in ink reservoir that can be refilled.

While the ink tank is designed to reduce the ink cost and provide as much ink as possible, the HP Auto-Off Technology reduces electricity cost by turning off the machine automatically when the condition is met. You can click the link below to download HP Smart Tank 515 Driver for Windows:

This driver is available in the HPLIP Printer Application HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP) is an HP-developed solution for printing, scanning, and faxing with HP inkjet and laser based printers in Linux. The HPLIP project provides printing support for over 3000 printer models, including Deskjet, Officejet, Photosmart, PSC (Print, Scan, Copy), Business Inkjet, Envy, NeverStop, Smart Tank, Tango, DesignJet, (Color) LaserJet, Mopier, Edgeline MFP, and LaserJet MFP. Note that most HP models are supported, but a few are not. See Supported Devices at the HPLIP website for more information. HPLIP is free, open source software distributed under the MIT, BSD, and GPL licenses. HP does not provide formal consumer or commercial support for this software. HPLIP contains two flavors of the printer driver. The default driver is the CUPS Raster driver "hpcups" and as alternative the older IJS-based HPIJS driver is still available, but its development and support has been discontinued. In addition there are ready-made PPD files for all supported PostScript printers, so that they get used in PostScript mode. HPLIP ships updated PPD files for all HP printers and both driver flavors. Therefore we do not provide PPD files here. For non-HP printers which work with HPIJS we provide PPDs via the driver entries "hpijs-pcl3", "hpijs-pcl5e", "hpijs-pcl5c".

To use AirPrint, you don't need to install an app, additional drivers, or other software. AirPrint is a technology built into most popular printer models, including the printers and print servers listed here.

Similar to AirPrint printers, these USB devices allow you to print or scan without having to install additional drivers. Because they require a USB connection, they support driverless printing or scanning only from Mac computers.

Installing the printer driver correctly: Do not connect the printer to the computer. Start installing the software first. During the installation process, a message will appear on the monitor informing you when to connect the printer to your computer.

To use any computer device, software (driver) is required. It is recommended to use the original software included with the device. If you don't have the software and can't find it on the device manufacturer's website, we can help. Tell us the model of your printer, scanner, monitor or other computer device, as well as the operating system version (for example: Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, etc.).
