I'm trying to print a pdf from Adobe Acrobat by clicking the kebab menu in the top right and the options available are Safe to PDF and All printers. When I click all printers > add printer, a window opens to use an enabled service. Brother Print Service Plugin is there but can't be selected and reads 'cannot add printers'.

I've gone to my phone's settings >connected devices>printing, and I see the two above mentioned print services say 'On'. Go into Brother, it searches for printers but never finds anything. Ditto for Default. How can I get the services to find the printer? Printer is on, not asleep, both printer and phone are on the same wireless network.

Installing the HP Smart app has never been a problem. But if you attempt to print something using this app, it requires you to also install the HP Print Service Plugin (evidently because its services are needed). And on my phone installing the plugin is always refused with an error message indicating that an incompatible version of the plugin has already been installed by another user. And, as I have mentioned before, I have never installed the plugin and I am unable to locate it among my installed apps. I have attempted various measures, e.g. uninstalling the Samsung Print Service Plugin, which judging by its name ought to be performing a similar task. So at this point I'm a bit lost at how to proceed...

I recommend you uninstall HP Smart App and also the HP print services plugin. Then clear the cache on your phone (Refer to the user manual of your phone to clear the cache) and then first install the HP print services plugin and then install the HP Smart App and check whether you are able to print.

The Lexmark print service plugin enables native printing from your Android device to supported Lexmark products without requiring a 3rd party app. Documents and images can be easily printed directly to Lexmark printers on the same network as the Android Device.

Mopria Print Service enhances the print functionality on any Android phone or tablet.Ā

With this service, you can connect and print to any Mopria certified printerĀ

without additional set-up.

Most Android devices come preinstalled with a Mopria powered print service. If your Android device is not yet able to print, you can download the Mopria Print Service app from Google Play or directly from the Mopria website.

When there are multiple print services installed on your device (e.g., Mopria, Android's Default Print Service, etc.), or if the printer has Wi-Fi Direct enabled and the printer is also on the same network as your mobile device, the printer may be displayed twice on the printer list. You may be able to resolve this issue by only enabling one active print service through the print settings menu or by disabling the Mopria option to search for Wi-Fi Direct printers.

I am attempting to create a custom PrintService plugin for Android, and I have everything except for that it is not showing up in the list of printers under 'All Printers', and says 'Cannot add printers' under my print service if I click "Add printer" manually. I downloaded this print service which does show up in the list of printers, but I can't figure out what is different in their code versus mine.

With the Custom Print Service Plugin you won't need long installation procedure anymore! It allows direct printing on several Custom printers without any libraries or additional printing drivers. It prints easily from Android applications (Gallery, Browser, etc.) when the smartphone or the tablet is connected to a suitable Custom printer through Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB and Ethernet interface. It 's also to control printing parameters such as color, number of copies, paper orientation, cutting mode and presentation. With this innovative plugin, technology is really at your service. For Android 4.4 or above.

In today's fast-paced digital world, efficient printing solutions are crucial for both businesses and individuals. HP, a global leader in technology and printing, offers a range of tools and services to enhance the printing experience. One of these tools is the HP Print Service Plugin, designed to simplify and improve the printing process for Android users. In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into the world of HP Print Service Plugins, exploring what they are, how to use them, and the benefits they offer to streamline your printing tasks.

HP Print Service Plugin is an Android application that allows you to print directly from your Android device to an HP printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This plugin is compatible with a wide range of HP printers and offers various features to enhance your printing experience.

Printer Not Found: If the plugin doesn't detect your HP printer, ensure that both your Android device and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Restarting the printer may also help.

Printing Errors: If you experience printing errors, double-check the print settings in the plugin to ensure they match the printer's requirements. Sometimes, issues can arise due to incorrect settings.

Print Quality Issues: If the print quality is poor, ensure that the printer has sufficient ink or toner. Additionally, you can adjust the quality settings within the plugin for better results.

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5" running Oreo 8.1 recently. I understand "Default print service" was introduced in this version, which is present in Settings>Connections>More connection settings>Printing/PRINT SERVICES. It is switched on and finds my HP Envy 5640 series [144552] printer. Opening, as an example, BBC Food and a recipe, tapping "Print recipe" has no effect, nor does "Print..." appear in the drop down menu.

My mobile 'phone is a first generation Motorola running Lollipop version 5.1. It has HP Print Service Plugin installed by default. Opening the same BBC Food web page, the drop down menu displays "Print...". Tapping that or "Print recipe" opens a new page that is the HP Print Service Plugin, which allows me to alter elements and print successfully.

I know little about printing wirelessly but both HP e-Print and Wi-Fi Direct are on and the printer has no issues, so far as I am aware - I print wirelessly from my Windows PC. I have printed an Inbox email from this tablet successfully, also.

I do not wish to have to download another app such as HP or Samsung Print Service Plugin or Google Cloud Print, when it seems Default print service is present precisely to avoid such a process. I am at a loss, however, to know what next to do.

Just offhand but if you're not willing to install the manufacturer's app, there's a good chance that's why you're not being able to use your printer. The default printing service on any operating system will have limitations so adding a necessary driver or background service that's directly relative to the actual device (in this instance your 5640 series printer) might be required.

Subsequent to my post I installed HP Print Service Plugin to determine whether that made a difference. It did not. In any case, tapping "Default print service" in Settings>Connections>More connection settings>Printing/PRINT SERVICES displays "HP Envy 5640 series [144552]" *, although tapping that in "Default print service" does nothing, while tapping it in "HP Print Service" shows "Fetching printer information" followed by a page of the printer's details.

*That is true only when "HP Print Service" is switched off; if both "Default print service" and "HP Print Service" are switched on and I tap "Default print service", "Searching for printers..." appears and results in nothing being found.

Finally, I stated in my post I am able to print from the Email Inbox using "Default print service", and from "Gallery", too; it is merely a web page I am unable to print. What I have noticed is the major difference between my 'phone running Lollipop 5.1 and the tablet running Oreo 8.1: "Print..." appears in the overflow menu on a web page on my ,phone, but it is not present on the tablet. I have yet to discover why and what alternative there might be in the later version.

Up until now, printing through an Android device has been somewhat of a chore. Each brand of printer used its own plugin that needed to be downloaded through the Google Play Store before you could start printing. Then, once you had the plugin downloaded, actually getting it set up could often prove to be quite clunky.

Simply pass the variable data for your label or receipt to PrintConnect using the Android Intents system and PrintConnect will merge the data with your template and send it on to the printer. PrintConnect supports Cloud storage services so you can centrally manage all your templates. Our free Windows-based, WYSIWYG ZebraDesigner software allows you to design templates for any application.

One common use case for this plugin is obtaining device information for telemetry or crash-reporting purposes. In this scenario your app is not interested in specific properties, instead it wants to send all it knows about the device to your backend service for further analysis. You can leverage deviceInfo property, which returns platform-specific device information in a generic way. You then use it's toMap method to serialize all known properties to a Map. Your backend service should be prepared to handle new properties, which can be added to this plugin in the future.
