Planning in Beauty
Hozhó’ ogo Nahat’a is a Diné-led, community-driven initiative addressing the harms caused by coal mining, forced relocation, and extractive land management policies in the Hopi Partitioned Lands (HPL) and Navajo Partitioned Lands (NPL) of Black Mesa, Arizona. Our mission is to revive Diné Fundamental Law’s principles of balance, stewardship, and relational accountability in our work with the local community to facilitate dialogues, host gatherings, and execute collaborative projects around decolonization, cultural knowledge, intergenerational healing, and ecological restoration.
We work in collaboration with local Diné experts to heal our lands and watersheds, one workshop at a a time.
Follow along for updates in conservation planning and rangeland restoration.
We document and commemorate the Named Places of historical and cultural importance to the Diné of Black Mesa.
