Don’t Turn Springfest Into Snoozefest

With the highly anticipated Springfest approaching its important to remain safe while you indulge in all the fun. In this article, I am going to give some tips on how to indulge in all the Springfest fun while remaining safe.

Tip #1: Stay Hydrated!!

If you have been at Howard long enough, you know when it gets hot in DC it gets hot, humid, muggy, all of the above. In these weather conditions it’s important to stay hydrated. It’s also not a bad idea to have something on your stomach as well. Hydration can come in multiple forms, with different beverages like water, Gatorade, Liquid IV, and Pedialyte. Can help keep you hydrated and replenish your body with the necessary electrolytes. In an article by NorthWestern Medical Group titled “ Do Electrolytes Really Boost Hydration?” Jeevan Chechakunnil Abraham, MD states “Our bodies rely on electrolytes to function properly, especially when it comes to hydration.” So ladies and gentleman lets prioritize hydration so we can enjoy Springfest to the best of our ability. Tip #2: Use a Buddy System.

When attending all the springfest events, it’s important to always have a friend by your side. Especially at parties. Having a friend by your side ensures that you guys can look out for each other and have fun together. It’s also important to enforce the rule of leaving with the same people that you attended the party with.

Tip #3: Get the DETAILS on All of The Events of The Week

Springfest is a week long events so theres alot of events going on. From the events hosted by UGSA to the parties and afterward events. The best part about springfest is that all the events hosted by the UGSA are free except for the fashion show so all you have to do is show up. It’s also worth noting that you don’t have to attend every event. While Springfest is all about the parties and events. Every event might not pique you interest and that’s okay as long as you have fun. The most anticipated event of Springfest is the concert happening on Friday the 17th. While the concert is free you do need a ticket to enter. Tickets go on sale at random so be on the lookout for the announcement of when the tickets drop. I hope after receiving these tips you are prepared to enjoy Springfest because I know I definitely will!
