There’s been a new scam going around where scammers will impersonate your voice to try to make your voice sound exactly like you. With this scam, they target younger people, including children. Nowadays, AI scams are getting more and more prevalent. Watch out for scams and don’t get caught up in them! It’s now easy for somebody to be somebody they are not.

There have been reports of children answering calls from their tablets or iPads and imitating their parents. In one instance, a man reported that his daughter was on the phone with someone who she thought was him. The call had the same voice as his and told her that he needed her to get groceries out of the car and to open the door for him. However, when the dad looked at the call, it wasn’t from him and came from a suspicious email.
Scammers can also pose as trusted individuals to get you. They can now mimic voices and use advanced technology. How you can know these are scams or fake calls is by creating a code word with your loved ones. Second, there are critical signs that you are not talking to a loved one. For example, if they say that they need you to do something immediately, at that second, or if they say don’t tell anybody and come right now. You could also make a code name with your family members to know that it is really them.

Don’t do what you are told to do over the phone-ask them about it in person
