Love Around the Corner: Finding Love in the Age of Techology

In a world driven by technology, it can be hard to imagine meeting the love of your life in public. With dating apps like Tinder or Hinge, sometimes it feels like all we are is a collection of photos and witty captions for someone to swipe on. However,  there is still hope for love, all you need to do is follow these simple instructions. 

STEP 1:

Go outside: you’re never going to meet someone if you stay in your dorm or apartment. Who knows, maybe the love of your life is right around the corner. 

STEP 2:

Be open to meeting new people: in a world of technology it is so easy to forget that connection can happen outside of the digital world. If you see someone who interests you or someone is interested in you–talk to them! Nobody ever fell in love without saying something.

STEP 3:

Swallow your pride: we are all fools in love. Don’t miss out on your opportunity for love because something seemed too embarrassing or did not follow “social rules.” Make big love declarations and be chivalrous–no one has ever said they hated an act of love.

STEP 4:

Be yourself: who you are is unique and unlike any other. Never dim your light for love because no real love is built on an idea or a lie. YOU are enough just the way you are.

Moral of the story: go out there and find love. Love does not have to come from an internet conversation. I could bloom in a classroom, on the bus, in a store, at a party or on the street. All you have to do is go out and find it!
