Spring break is almost here! A week-long break to relax after midterms and the halfway point to the end of the semester. Let it be said, a college spring break is like no other, because these are some of the final moments before adulthood, where you get a free week off from responsibilities. Some students head to South America or Europe, but most head to Miami. However, we can’t all travel, so if you are a D.C. college student reading this, here are some great places and activities in D.C. to help you still have an amazing spring break.
Cherry Blossoms in full bloom in Washington D.C.
This festival was given for this article; it is a popular DMV springtime activity that allows attendees to bask in the glory of the environment. The National Cherry Blossom Festival runs from March 20th to April 12th and features various activities, such as the opening ceremony, Petalpalooza, and the blossom kite festival. Students of the Washington Ballet
Fan of the arts? The Washington Ballet is showcasing a story of love, betrayal, and a second chance in their rendition of Giselle. The show is currently running and will stop on March 8th. Choreographed by Edwaard Liang, this two-hour showcase offers the audience a fresh, reimagined version of this famed, quintessential haunting tragedy that will impress knowledgeable audiences and capture new viewers as well. The Washington Ballet is currently running this show and will stop on the 8th of March. Prices vary from $50 to $125.
Washington Nationals' stadium
Going to a baseball game is a required springtime activity; it isn’t called America’s pastime for no reason. Get a giant salted pretzel, grab a drink, and bring your friends to any Washington Nationals game this spring. Have a safe and fun spring break!
