Your application has been reviewed, and you have moved on to the next step: an interview. Interview preparation can be very daunting and stressful. You're unsure about the questions that might be asked and how to answer them properly. Are you giving the interviewers enough information to work with or too much information? All these questions are normal when it’s time to prepare for an interview, but I am here to help you ace your interview and get rid of those nerves.
1. Preparing For An Interview
When preparing for an interview they are 4 things you should do that will ensure your path to success. 1. Research the company. Learn about the company's values, work culture, what they do, and who they partner with. 2. Study the job description. Memorize down to a T what this job requires you to do. Who will you report to? What are you responsible for? 3. Practice your story. What do you want the interviewers to know about you? What do you want them to remember from their interview with you? 4. Prepare your questions. This includes questions that might be asked at your interview and questions you might want to ask them to get a better feel of whether this job is for you.
2. What Employers Really Want To Hear
Before you step foot into your interview, it’s important to know what your interviewee and possible employer is expecting to hear from you. So I’m going to give you 4 questions that will most definitely be asked during your interview. Question 1: Why do you want this job? This is a standard question asked at every interview just to understand why this job, why this position. Question 2: Why are you a good candidate for this job? In this question, it’s important to explain what qualities you have and how these qualities will contribute to the job and workplace. Make sure to get really into detail with this question. Question 3: Why do you want to work for the company or organization? For this question, they want to know why them. Why do you want to work for this company compared to all the other companies out there? Be sure to bring up some of the company's values that you align with or respect. Question 4: Why do you want to work in the industry? What about this industry draws you to it? Why are you passionate about working in this field of work.
3. What Makes a Good Interview Response
What makes a good interview response? How do you make sure you hit all those points and answer the question in full? Well, let me break it down. A good interview response includes providing evidence from your past experiences and how they can contribute to the work environment. Tailor your responses to fit the job role and company. Always try to bring your answer back to the company and what you can contribute. Make sure your answer is clear and concise. Make sure you take a moment and breathe before you answer the question. Gather your thoughts, then answer.
