What is the process of IVF in India?
The process of IVF in India is not as long and complicated as others think, though this process can take a longer period to complete if the couples’ gametes are not healthy. Here is the detail on IVF process in India:
Counselling – The IVF treatment in India starts with counselling to prepare the couple psychologically for the whole process, failure and success included.
Medical Tests – After counseling comes the medical examination of the couple, to have the knowledge of the infertility level and other health issues.
Stimulation – A stimulation injection is given to the women for the growth and strength of the eggs. However if the woman does not want to take this then the doctor would not force it. But remember this is for the successful outcome of the treatment.
Collection – After stimulation comes the collection of the gametes. Both the female and male partners’ gametes are collected. If the eggs or sperm are not in top health then the doctor can suggest donor eggs or sperm.
Fusion – The collected gametes are fused together to form an embryo. This is done in the observation of the doctors in the laboratory.
Insemination – Once the embryo has formed it is time to inseminate it into the female uterus. This is done through an injection which does not hurt much so the females do not have to worry about painful process.
Result – The last step is to wait for the positive result. If the pregnancy result is negative then the whole process is repeated again till the result comes out positive.
