Use zoom to create audiovisual content without the concern of muddled audio.
This guide will focus on creating separate audio tracks for each meeting participant. This allows users to record and download separate audio files for each participant.
How is this possible? Zoom allows for local recording, which is availiable for free subscribers. Local recording lets meeting participants to record their video and audio locally to their computer. Local recording captures the meeting in speaker view, which means the meeting will appear exactly as the participant recording sees it.
i. open Zoom on your computer
ii. click on your profile picture on the righhand side of the application (if you don't have a picture, it will be your coloured initals)
iii. open settings, and on the lefthand side, click "Recording"
iv. once in recording settings, select the second option: "Record a separate audio file of each participant"
When you start a meeting, remember to click the record button! At this point your audio will already record separately, so you wont notice anything different from a usual recording
As soon as you end the recording, you will get a pop up like the one on the left, letting you know Zoom is converting your audio files
Your audio will automatically go to a folder called "Zoom." From there, you may select the most recent audio file, which will be named the date you recorded. Once slected, you may choose the meeting participant whose audio you would like to download, as each separate audio file will be located in the same meeting file.
You may edit the name of the meeting file to help you find it, and all your separate audios, in the future!
