If you came here via a direct link and don't yet know how to upload artwork to Steam, please go to the main image upload guide.
When uploading explicit Artwork, there is a small chance of the artwork being removed from your Steam profile. This most often happens if your profile is visited by many random people, or if your Steam region is US, UK, or Saudi Arabia. To avoid this, it is IMPORTANT to mark your art as NSFW content. Below is a guide on how to do this.
If you are uploading my works, this mainly applies only to artwork of this type. With other artwork this is not necessary, but if you are concerned or your region is US, UK, or Saudi Arabia, continue reading the guide.
Before STEP 2 of the main artwork upload guide, go to the page of the artwork you have uploaded. (If you uploaded the version with two images, this can only be done for the MID part.)
In this window, it is recommended to uncheck "Allow comments" and make sure to go to the "Update Content Description" menu.
In the window that appears, check the boxes for "General Mature Content" and "Some Nudity or Sexual Content". The other boxes are not required — I have never checked them and don't know what effect they would have.
At this point you can finish — this should protect your artwork from Steam bots and administrators, and you can proceed to STEP 2 of the main guide. However, if you want to protect your artwork by 99.9%, continue reading the next section.
This step is optional and is mainly only necessary for those whose profile is visited by many random users, as Steam may remove any artwork, even a safe one, if it receives a large number of reports.
In your profile privacy settings, set the visibility to friends only. This is the most drastic and absolutely optional measure, but it will protect your profile by 99.9%.
Your artwork is now ready to be set up and you can proceed to STEP 2 of the main guide.
