Hi, I downloaded a 4 songs last week on my computer, all 4 have gone to my iPhone and iPad but only 3 of them have got onto my iPod. I've since downloaded another song, again it's gone onto iPhone and iPod and when I've synced the iPod it's gone onto that too but the other song still won't go to my iPod. It plays fine in iTunes, phone and iPad but can't get it to go on my iPod. Any suggestions??

Purchased songs appear in your iTunes library (and play), even if they are not downloaded to your computer's storage, by streaming from iCloud. The iPhone and iPad also have access from iCloud. Your iPod is synced from your computer's iTunes library, and all songs need to be stored locally. So, maybe one of the five songs you purchased did not get downloaded to your computer after purchase.

I have a 32 GB ipod touch with plenty of space on it still, but when I sync it to iTunes, any music I've recently added will not download to the iPod. It was working fine until a month ago, but now even though the new songs are visible on iTunes in the "On this iPod page" but they show up as not downloaded. I've run a diagnostic test on my iPod but it said everything was working fine. Is there a way to fix this? I have purchased and downloaded music from cds and all of a sudden I can't add them to the library on my device.

I also tried manually syncing the iPod instead of automatically syncing it, but I have the same problem. iTunes says all my music is synced, but the "On this iPod" library shows the songs as not downloaded (they're listed there but with the "downloading" symbol), and they do not appear on the iPod when I look for them.

The iPod was once synced to another computer, but I have had it for over a year now, and it never had a problem until last month loading new music. ITunes sees the iPod, and it automatically syncs like ususal. The new songs show up in the "On this iPod" library, but they show up as not downloaded. However, when I check for new downloads in the iTunes store on my iPod, nothing is listed. And this happened with the last CD I tried to load on as well. The songs do not sync to the iPod, but iTunes says all my music is synced.

I tried that but the same songs will not appear on the iPod after the backup and restoration. I don't have any problems with aps that I bought on the iPod, just with songs that I added to my iTunes library.

They play on iTunes just fine. They are in AAC audio version. According to the information about the songs there is no difference between the ones that play and the ones that don't as far as format goes. Strangely, 4 of the songs that I recently purchased will download to the iPod, but some that I purchased before will not, and the last song I bought will not, and the CD that I tried to upload two weeks ago will not download to the iPod.

I ended up completely resetting the Ipod. I did not restore it from a back up but set it up as a new device. Then I manually added my music library from iTunes. It is working now. I just bought new songs and they synced just fine with my device. I hope the problem is solved! Thanks for your suggestions to fix it, I appreciate it!

I have an iPod that I use in my car to listen my music. Is it possible to download songs to MP3 or some other format and then transfer them to an iPod on which I would not have a live internet connection? How would I do this?

Not an Apple user but considering iPod for offline listening. Spotify system requirements say "5th generation iPod Touch or above". Is the generation the key or the type? Specifically, will 7th and 8th generation iPod Nano's work for downloading Spotify songs for offline listening? Considering the Mighty also, but might be able to get a Nano from a friend.

Been down this rabbit hole ? I simply want transfer songs onto my terrific iPod classic , from Amazon music or even Apple music , without using a worthless 3rd party app like Tunelf , which won't work anyway. HELP

If you are subscribing to Apple Music+ you can stream or download songs, but you cannot copy them or move them to another device since this would defeat the point of their being on subscription. This means that you can download them again to an iPod Touch but you cannot move them to any other iPod.

Anyone who has same issue as mine? I tried to sync songs from my itunes account to my ipod nano 7th gen, but I am getting an error message " Apple music songs cannot be copied to an ipod." Can someone help me with this please?

I had this same problem today, as a matter of fact. I couldn't figure it out at first. I plugged in the usb cord and it immediately began to synch... except it ended up erasing all the music on my iPod. I freaked out. All my music was still in my iTunes library but I didn't understand why I was getting the error message that the songs were in the wrong format (.mp3) and couldn't be copied to my iPod. The first time I tried it today I was using a usb cord that I usually use to listen to my iPod in my car. I took a chance and switched to the usb cord that I usually use to charge my iPhone and ... voila! That worked! I was able to sync the songs from my iTunes account to my iPod. Both cords are authentic Apple products but the 2nd one is newer so maybe that was it. In any event, that's what worked for me.

Ever since the apple music update I've been unable to add or remove music from my ipod touch 5 via itunes on my computer. Everywhere I've looked says you go to the ipod icon, go into summary and click "manually manage music and videos" but mine only shows the option to "manually manage videos". I would like to be able to delete all of the music off of my ipod and start fresh because it somehow duplicated my entire playlist and is taking up double the amount of space it should. Currently the only way I've found to do that is to individually go through and delete each of the 2000 songs twice, and that's a huge waste of time, so any help would be appreciated!

I've found a lot on the web about being able to manage your iPod through Ubuntu. Is it possible to take songs off the ipod onto disk in a usable form, as my song drive has crashed1 and that's the only back up I have.

The standard Ubuntu music player, Rhythmbox, is able to do that. Just select all the songs/artists you want to copy from your iPod and drag them to the Music tab under Library (all on the left hand side). Once it's done, you can find them in the folder that's under "music library" (edit > preferences > music). Rhythmbox also syncs. I don't use that myself but that might be even easier.

I have an old original iPod touch (1st gen, 16GB) on which I have some 1,466 songs. I don't even have the original source for many of these any more. In the old days, when Apple supplied iTunes on their Macs, moving songs into and out of iPods was relatively easy. The devices even supported "Disk mode," which would mount them as just another HDD.

If you get the files you can convert them to standard mp3's with audacity. I have downloaded songs from Apple with gift cards people gave me and converted them to mp3's using audacity. Audacity also normalizes, amplifies and allows you to crop long lead ins and lead outs.

They are not stored there. My iCloud account has no songs stored there but the iTunes account has the songs I have purchased saved and does not count against the 5GB. This is true too for apps. I have changed or added multiple Apple devices and all the songs and apps I have purchased in the past are always available for download. Consequently I have all my songs on my iPad and iPhone including apps. Do you use an iPhone or have an iPad or Apple PC/laptop? There are used iPod devices and older iPhones can be used as an iPod without cellular but using WiFi to connect. Anyway - hope you find a solution but the easy way is to use an iTunes account. I still have a Windows iTunes program with access to the iTunes account and you could use that too. Good luck!
