I have a dual band modem and, in the past, have used a wifi extender for hard to reach areas in my house. I had several smart devices (IoT devices) connected, but when I connected them the first time, I had to disable my 5 GHz wifi temporarily. They connected fine after I did that.

Thus far Xfinity has not responded to a cause or solution of the issue. One thing I did do was go into settings and toggle the smart resume (i.e. turn it off and then back on). This seemed to help on some more recent recordings but I can't tell for sure if it actually fixed anything. I may have just been viewing a program where the issue wasn't as pronounced. I'll wait a while to see if the toggle actually resolved anything. My suspicion is that Xfinity did an update to their software and it threw off the timing on the smart resume feature. This issue only surfaced about 2 to 3 months ago on my system.

With what xfinity charges and so many people cutting the cord, (and us now thinking about it) xfinity really needs to fix this issue and allow me to take my xfinity account with me when I'm away from home.

At the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show, Comcast unveiled a new software platform for its Arris 1682G and Cisco 3941T/3939 modems, which would offer a redesigned configuration interface, support for remote setup and management via an Xfinity mobile app, and enabling integration of supported smart home devices with other Xfinity platforms such as Xfinity TV. The new platform launched under the brand xFi in May 2017. Comcast also unveiled the xFi Advanced Gateway, a new router designed to facilitate faster Wi-Fi speeds, including support for 802.11ac Wave 2, as well as internal support for Bluetooth Low Energy, Thread, and Zigbee for finer integration with Internet of things devices, and support for an accompanying line of Wi-Fi extenders (manufactured by Plume).[30][31][32][33]

Comcast operates a network of public Wi-Fi hotspots for Xfinity internet subscribers known as Xfinity WiFi, which consists of a mixture of hotspots installed in public locations and businesses, and those generated by supported Xfinity home gateways on an opt-out basis. Users on the "Performance" tier or higher receive unlimited usage of these hotspots after signing in with their Xfinity Account. By default, all dual-band Xfinity home gateways operate both a private network, and a public network with the SSID "xfinitywifi". To conserve bandwidth, these hotspots are capped at 5 simultaneous users. Customers can opt out of providing Xfinity WiFi through either the Comcast website, or by installing a third-party router.[34][35]

Customers can choose Xfinity Home services with professional monitoring or self-protection. The Xfinity Home Self Protection plan starts at $10 per month, and subscribers can add smart entry kits, cameras, and smart locks for additional costs per month to the base package. Xfinity Home professional monitoring comes in Pro Protection and Pro Protection Plus, costing $30 per month or $40 per month to start. These services come with 24/7 professional monitoring, real-time alerts for entryway breaches, cellular and battery backup up to a week of recorded video, and entity footage search.

You may access Xfinity on campus using the link below. If you would like to connect to your Television set using Xfinity on campus, you will need a Roku box and download the Xfinity app. You may also use your smartphone with an HDMI connector to your TV.

I'm hoping to find some help with some Feit smart wifi bulbs that don't seem to want to connect to my wifi. I have many smart devices connected through Smart Life (none of which have given me this much trouble), but these are my first Feit devices. These bulbs only work on a 2.4GHz network, so I have 5GHz disabled on my Xfinity XFi router to ensure only 2.4 is available. While the bulb is blinking rapidly to indicate EZ pairing mode, I select manually add Lighting Device. I enter my network name and password (I'm sure it's correct), and the "Adding device" screen comes up. Within a few seconds, the bulb stops blinking and stays on solid, which seems to indicate some degree of communication has been achieved. However, the app never advances beyond "Adding device" and eventually times out, saying there was no response from the device. I have tried this in both EZ and AP pairing mode on both the Feit Electric and Smart Life apps with the same result. I have also tried with WPS active, as suggested in Feit's troubleshooting guide, with no change. I contacted Feit support, and so far they have suggested everything I have already tried. Any other suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.
