I have two instances of WhatsApp on my Note8. When I receive a message on my primary WhatsApp, I get notifications instantly as normal. However, on my dual WhatsApp, I don't get notifications unless I open the app.

I've gone to Settings->Notifications and there is only one 'WhatsApp' app listed and notifications are enabled. However, this cannot be where the issue is as the notifications are fine for the primary app, just not the dual app.

I use Whatsapp Business for the second number. There are other ways like adding another user account or I think apps like shelter would work as well, however to me its easiest to just use 2 different apps

Hi @yvmuell,

Many thanks for your quick feedback!

Does it mean that there is a major change from Android 10 (my previous phone) to Android 11 (my FP4) in terms that dual-sim-dual-account is not supported any more with WhatsApp?

Is this an Android feature or is it specific to FP / Samsung (my old phone)?

Best regards

Bernhard

Whats the issue with Signal?

I am using it with dual SIM and it lets me select SIM1 or SIM2 or Data(If the other part has Signal, not sure what to call it). It will also remember my choice.

Or do you already have two accounts for Signal and dont want to combine the two?

Notably, officially, one WhatsApp account can be opened only on one smartphone. "Your WhatsApp account can only be verified with one number on one phone. If you have a dual SIM phone, please note that you still must choose one number to verify with WhatsApp. There is no option to have a WhatsApp account with two phone numbers," the company said on its FAQ page.

I have been using WhatsApp dual messenger for a while on my Galaxy S21 Ultra and lots of messages back and forth, recently after the latest updates I noticed I am unable to send or receive files of any type. Additionally I am unable to make backups of any sort so I can not get out Dual Messenger and restore somewhere else.

I don't know where samsung has messed up but my storage size is showing Zero kB. whether this is a permission problem they messed up or storage location for dual messengers app, the app seems to have no write permission at all hence all the problems.

The Solution to restore whatsapp into whatsapp business from app store also DOES NOT work, as the last backup of the messages on google drive is from July and samsung whatsapp will not let me make new online or local backups, it has no local backups anyways probably for the same reason, so I will be loosing lots of important messages.

You should be aware this is a Whatsapp problem that they need to fix. Android 12 got launched and Whatsapp is not compatible with it so they need to update the app. It barely worked with Android 11. See the comments on Google Play and you will see it is not just Samsung devices that have the issue and how widespread the problems are WhatsApp Messenger - Apps on Google Play

Rename the original "Internal Storage (Dual Messenger) /Android/media/com.whatsapp" to "com.whatsapp_bac" and create new folder by the name "com.whatsapp". Copy folder "/Internal Storage/DualApp/Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp" to "Internal Storage (Dual Messenger) /Android/media/com.whatsapp".

Rename the original "Internal Storage (Dual Messenger) /Android/media/com.whatsapp" to "com.whatsapp_bac" here should I rename just the com.whatsapp or the whole folder? I renamed the com.whatsapp to com.whatsapp_back which has worked but the creating folder is not working.

The first and simplest option is also the safest workaround to make two WhatsApp accounts work on the same device. WhatsApp also comes as a WhatsApp Business application on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. This method also works for iOS users, so follow this method to get dual WhatsApp accounts on iPhone.

The final and the least recommended method for using dual WhatsApp accounts on the same phone is via GB WhatsApp. This app allows you to use an additional installation of WhatsApp on your phone and run multiple accounts or dual WhatsApp accounts parallelly.

These are the multiple methods you can use to enable various WhatsApp accounts on the same mobile phone; these methods can be beneficial if you use a Dual SIM smartphone. While all the above methods work for an Android phone, you can use the WhatsApp Business method for using dual WhatsApp accounts on iPhone.

Nowadays, people are preferring to have a dual Sim smartphone in which they can run two mobile networks. One for personal use and another one for official purpose. At the same time, most of the people are using WhatsApp messenger in their smartphones, but there is a limitation. We are unable to use two separate accounts in WhatsApp on one smartphone.

With this new "Dual Messenger" feature you are able to use and run two separate WhatsApp accounts simultaneously on your same Samsung Galaxy mobile phone. More interestingly, you can also the dual accounts of Facebook, Skype, Snapchat, WeChat, Viber, LINE and more.

Dual WhatsApp is a WhatsApp account with two separate phone numbers used on the same device at the same time. This dual WA application can share the various demands or interests of the company, for example, the separation of different marketing and sales departments so that they can be more concentrated.

Just like dual messenger, app clone or dual app is a feature that is already available on some types of phones. Users simply click on settings and then open App clone or App twin. After that, the user simply selects WhatsApp and the phone will duplicate.

The only way to make WhatsApp dual through official channels is to use the WhatsApp Business API. This multi WhatsApp app allows you to use WhatsApp with an unlimited number of administrators who have the same account and device or different accounts. You can get WhatsApp Business API through official WhatsApp API partners such as OneTalk by TapTalk.io.

Since using the WhatsApp Business API is the only official way to use dual WhatsApp, there is certainly more value to offer. Here are the advantages that you can get if you use Dual WA on the WhatsApp Business API with OneTalk.

In conclusion, the era of dual SIM smartphones has ushered in new possibilities for managing multiple phone numbers conveniently. While WhatsApp initially posed limitations, methods like WhatsApp duplication and the introduction of a native multi-account mode have made it easier for dual SIM users to fully utilize both numbers. Whether through built-in features from smartphone manufacturers or by using WhatsApp Business, you can now stay connected with your contacts using both of your dual SIM card numbers.

It seems Samsung utilizes a separate user profile mechanism for dual messenger apps. To access these apps, we can gather the app list from all user profiles, filtering out the ones we already have. This will leave us with the dual messenger apps that we can then launch using the LauncherApps service.

Manufacturers including Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, Honor, OnePlus, and Realme allow its users to set up dual apps or parallel apps or twin apps. They use different terminologies for what is essentially a feature that allows users to have two separate versions of the same app, thus allowing for two different apps. Read on to find out how you can enable this feature on different phones.

But thank app developers there is a way to have 2 WhatsApp accounts on one phone. You only need to install a certain app and have a dual sim phone or another phone you can borrow for a few minutes (literally less than 2 minutes) so that you can receive a WhatsApp verification code for the second WhatsApp number.

For android 8.0.0 on my sumsung. It comes pre installed with secure folder. Which allows you to run 2 different whatsapp accounts, fb you name it the list is endless. Or you csn go to settings. Advanced features, dual messanger. And switch on the app that you want.

Everything sort of went well, but there is an option that is apparently blocked form use.

This is called "dual messenger" which means, if supported by the app you can run multiple instances of it.

Could you please try to manually set it? We can refer to the following link:

Note: Non-Microsoft link, just for the reference.

For this issue, I have done a lot of research. I find someone has the similar requirement in intune uservoice. This is a place to collect customers' requirements and problems. We can vote and post our detailed request here.

I have a new xperia 1 IV. I noticed that apparently there is no way to get dual Whatsapp or Signal apps for this. Is it really the case that such a "basic feature" is missing and is the situation about to change? Somehow I don't understand that a dual sim phone in this price range can lack such an essential thing.

With the popularity of dual-SIM phones, many people are curious about using two WhatsApp numbers on the same phone. It can be for personal reasons, managing your work calls more efficiently, and so on.

Many Android phones, including Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Realme, Vivo, etc., have a built-in dual or parallel app feature. Once enabled, this feature allows users to use the two versions of the same app, including WhatsApp.

If your Android phone doesn't come preinstalled with the Cloner, dual, or Parallel app feature, you can still run two WhatsApp in one phone. In that case, you have to get assistance from several third-party apps like "Parallel Space." 17dc91bb1f
