I noticed that they like to go out for about 4 months and 3 days between two waves. Except for 2 exceptions, the one between wave 1 and 2, I think it's because Nintendo released wave 1 rather than planned, maybe marketing plan, the month of March is maybe a month that they like at Nintendo and where they make more figures, I didn't delve into the subject, which surely also explains the fact that wave 1 had really less beautiful graphics and that Coconut Mall was not even finished with the cars that remain on place. And between wave 3 and 4 but here we are talking about a new calendar year so it's like a reboot, which explains that there was only 3 months of waiting. Nintendo are really very clear and I think that November 15 will be the official release of Wave 6, it will be approximately 4 months and 3 days like the other waves.

Courses from wave 1 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe \u2013 Booster Course Pass can be played from March 18th locally or online in Friends and Rivals races, even if only one player owns the Booster Course Pass or has access to it as part of a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. From March 22nd, courses from wave 1 will also appear in the Random selection when playing Global or Regional races with anyone online.

@SteelRain is that confirmed? The article here suggests it's a one off cost and you'll have access to every wave. I.E. you won't have to pay for a 2nd years subscription to get the waves coming out next year. Not sure where NL got that from or if that's correct. It would be nice to get clarification from an official source.

Since March 2022, Nintendo has been releasing extra courses to the game as paid DLC (or part of the premium tier Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription). Now the sixth and final wave will be available from 9th November.

It's no secret that the most recent console installment of the Mario Kart franchise, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, is quite popular. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is one of the Nintendo's best-selling games on the Switch. The unique mechanics and smooth gameplay have certainly contributed to this, but it's the friendliness towards competitive and casual players alike that solidifies its iconic status. Though Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's sixth wave of DLC has been confirmed to be the last, there should be plenty to look forward to.

The trailer for the final wave was just over a minute, so while a lot of ground was covered there is still some uncertainty surrounding it. Every wave prior to this one has included eight courses, which leaves seven unaccounted for at this point in time. There have been theories that one of the next tracks will be Dino Dino Jungle from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! while others are hoping for DK Mountain. If players are only looking to get the DLC, it can be bought for $24.99 on the Nintendo eShop. Further details of what exactly players should expect from the final wave are likely going to be revealed as the launch date draws nearer.

Unfortunately, an exact release date doesn't appear to have been established. The trailer simply noted that Wave 6 will be "available this holiday" which most are guessing means sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Since new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC packs are typically released every three to four months of the year, a December release date makes the most sense. After all, the third wave became available on December 7, 2022. At the very least, Nintendo sites suggest that the DLC will release by the end of the year, so fans don't have too much waiting to do.

As you can see, Wave 3 features some returning classics from prior Mario Kart releases as well as a few from Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo's mobile take on the series. Here's what to expect in this new wave next month:

When Wave 3 launches December 7, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will feature 24 additional tracks, with another 24 still to come. Each wave consists of eight tracks and Nintendo is set to release six waves of DLC courses in total, with the final wave hitting the game before the end of 2023.

We're rapidly approaching the midway point for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass content. With two of the six promised waves of new courses already out, Nintendo has begun teasing what players can expect with the third wave, which is due out this holiday season. During today's Nintendo Direct, we learned the first two courses coming in the third eight-course wave of new tracks.

Wave 1 brought fan favorites like Coconut Mall (Wii), Choco Mountain (N64), and Sky Garden (GBA), while Wave 2 gave us access to tracks like Kalimari Desert (N64), Mario Circuit 3 (SNES), and Mushroom Gorge (Wii). Each wave has also given us two tracks from Mario Kart Tour, with Wave 2 also including an all-new course in Sky-High Sundae.

The next wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's DLC was officially revealed as part of a Nintendo Direct on September 13. The trailer showcased two of the eight tracks slated to appear in Wave 3, which will become available around Holiday 2022. While the other six tracks have yet to be officially revealed, players have good guesses as to the ones that will be included.

Wave 3 will mark the halfway point for the Booster Course Pass, with the final three waves releasing across 2023. Prior waves have mainly brought back tracks from earlier Mario Kart games, remastered for 8 Deluxe, and Wave 3 is no exception. Wave 1 of MK8's Booster Course Pass released back in March, and Wave 2 came out in July. With the release of Wave 3, 24 additional tracks will have been added to the game as part of the DLC.

When preparing for a new wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, I always get the most jazzed for Double Dash!! tracks, since I logged hundreds of hours on the original game in my college years. I was particularly pumped for Daisy Cruiser, which was always in regular rotation in those days. I'm glad to report Daisy Cruiser is still a lot of fun, both in its vacation setting and its track design, which benefits from a dining area with sliding tables and an optional underwater area inhabited by a giant eel. Apart from inner tube Goombas in the opening pool area, which add a welcome wrinkle, the track is mostly unchanged from the version that appeared in Mario Kart 7. As much as I love the original course, I would have liked to see a few more surprises.

The new content will be available to players who have purchased the $24.99 Booster Course Pass, granting access to a massively expanded set of courses and characters released in waves 1 through 5, which have been releasing periodically throughout 2023, starting in March. The content is also available free of extra charge to players who have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

Wave 5 will also see the return of Petey Piranha, Wiggler, and Kamek as playable characters, who will take their place racing alongside other classic characters - including Birdo - who were introduced over the preceding four waves.

The Booster Course Pass is adding a whopping 48 additional tracks to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. These courses are taken from across the entire Mario Kart series and will be released eight at a time in six waves through the end of 2023. You can't buy the waves individually.

As mentioned, the DLC is also adding 3 more characters to the roster: Petey Piranha, Wiggler and Kamek. This follows on from the previous wave which saw its first additional character added via DLC: Birdo.

The final lap takes you through a field full of tulips (with added piranha plants), which looks lovely, and lap three also takes you back against the flow of the race, so kart-flattening oncoming traffic is a brief but fun, chaotic twist.

You may recall that, last week, Nintendo had officially announced that the 5th wave of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass would be releasing on July 12th. Of course, when the release of a new wave of DLC occurs, it usually coincides with an update to the base game.

Well, as promised, Nintendo has released the 5th wave of the Booster Course Pass. The new content also comes with an update to the base game, bringing the game to version 2.4.0. Most of the update, according to the patch notes, focuses on fixing bugs and making some gameplay adjustments. You can see the patch notes in full down below.

To get the Booster Course Pass Wave 3 (and the previous two waves), plus the forthcoming additional DLC, you need to either purchase the pass individually or pay for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. This also includes a healthy collection of retro NES, SNES, N64 and Sega Mega Drive games, plus other benefits and downloadable content.

The ranking, from worst to best, goes Wave One (55 points), Wave Four (56 points), Wave Three (58 points), Wave Five (59 points), Wave Two (61 points) then Wave Six (64 points).
