This is infuriating, is there anything I can do? Any option I can select/change/reset in firestick to get this thing to work? Maybe disable HDR10+ completely somewhere in Firestick??? I tried playing with the 8bit/10bit/12bit - the YBCR and RGB color spaces, the ALWAYS HDR vs ADAPTIVE HDR in firestick, and that's it.

I have a few TVs that use firestick4k max, I don't want to go out and spend $$$ to upgrade them all to AppleTVs or NvidiaShields. I know Firestick supports HDR10+, but it seems these layered files are the ones that are causing this issue, but only on the Plex version of the Firestick...

This has been possible on the Nvidia shield TV console using one button on the controller for years. As far back as 2015/16 on the original version. It displays all the current sound and vision codecs that the screen and speakers are receiving.

My LG tv can display Dolby Vision programs/films. I have an Amazon 4k Firestick plugged into my TV. When I watch any film I have purchased on the APPLE TV app via my firestick and the film has Dolby Vision available my tv does not indicate that Dolby Vision is being broadcasted. If, for example, I watch a Dolby Vision film via Netflix, The Dolby Vision symbol pops up on the top right of the TV screen. How do I know/tell I am watching in Dolby Vision via the Firestick/Apple TV app?

I have resolved this. The firestick was set to always display 4k HDR content and this always put the TV in Dolby Vision mode. When I selected adaptive for 4k HDR content in the firestick it switches on either HDR or Dolby Vision depending on the content. The TV also does its usual pop up to inform you which mode it is in.

I have a 4k fire stick connected to my sky glass. I think my Dolby vision content is being streamed in 4k as it appears when I press the 3 dots on the remote, however even when I am on the fire stick homescreen or in watching other shows that I know are not Dolby vision, it still shows up when I press the 3 dots. The only thing that comes and goes as it should is Dolby atmos. Any ideas?

Hi james,

With the latest ( 7.3.10), the dolby vision files on my harddrive have stopped being recognised as DV, instead that are HDR. all of these files are profile 8. I understand that you have changed:

I recently bought the roku ultra 2020, I discovered when I watch HDR10 or Dolby vision content, it is very dim and has low brightness in netflix, apple tv and amazon content. I compared to my nvidia shield and fire tv ,and HDR content is much brighter on those machines, I am using an LG C9 with identical settings on all 3 devices and the Roku ultra just looks dimmer and picture details get lost. I set the oled light to 100, contrast is on 100 and peak brightness is on high. I am also on the latest software 9.4, didn't change the brightness.I don't know if anyone has noticed this also.I even tested out the new Google tv chromecast and Dolby vision HDR was much brighter on the same tv.

Has anyone made progress with this? It seems the ultra has both display and audio issues from other posts I've read constantly requiring a reboot of the ultra. My old firestick worked just fine but I figured I'd "upgrade" lol.

*note* one thing that did come to mind is a lot of TV's only have 1 or 2 HDMI ports with 18gbs enhanced functions. I'm not using one of those as my other 4k devices are on them. I wonder if that might be part of it. Then again, the firestick was also in that same HDMI and had zero issues like this.

One of the major decisions that will shape a home theater system is choosing the right TV size. For most people, bigger is always better. If you're looking for an immersive home theater experience, experts recommend that you start your search with a look at 60-inch televisions and work your way up. Units in this range provide the visual impact that you need for almost any room. That said, it's also important to consider the size of the room or the viewing distance so you don't pick a home theater TV that is too large for your space.

Though there are few case reports in literature, it is apparent from them that ocular changes follow a typical course, and the severity of the ocular inflammation may vary with the species of the plant.[6] Symptoms usually start immediately on contact with the milky latex. There is burning sensation, pain, photophobia and lacrimation which may worsen over hours even after copious irrigation. At first, there is mild diminution of vision, but may diminish further to 20/200 or counting fingers to hand movements within 24 h as Case 2 in this report. On initial examination, the corneal epithelium may be intact or with mild punctate epitheliopathy, but eventually it may show frank epithelial defect on the next day.[10] It takes around four to seven days for the epithelium to heal completely. There is stromal edema with Descemet's fold which decreases with time. The degree of anterior uveitis is variable and is particularly marked with certain species as in Case 1 and Case 3 in this report.[3] The degree of ocular inflammation may also vary with the amount of sap that enters the eye. Neglected cases can progress to blindness due to corneal scarring, complicated uveitis, and anterior staphyloma.[3,4]

On the other hand, a visual acuity screen or LCD allows obtaining variable luminance intensities and contrasts. Another great advantage is the fact that it is possible to install suitable software for several different tests such as the Ishihara test (color vision), Snellen chart, ETDRS chart, and optotypes with pictures all on the same device. The downside is portability, as an LCD screen is harder to carry around.

The two key problems of device noise and TV noise were, in principle, solved, but the proof would be in the pudding. The device had to work for all TVs. So the team ensured that the prototype 4K stick worked when used with more than 100 different makes and models of TV. This rigorous testing confirmed that their proof-of-concept 4K stick had met its design goal of being able to stream 4K television to any TV. And they had done it in under six months. From there, the Amazon product managers got to work turning the prototype into the customer-ready Fire TV Stick 4K. 17dc91bb1f
