I threw my original receipt out years ago, not knowing I would later need it. Has anyone ever experienced this? How do you get the original reciept if you bought it at Target. I did buy it with my Target Red Card, which is linked to my checking account, but I can't find any info from that either. Heck, I dont even remember what year I bought it...

Not exactly by receipt but yes they can. If you bring the item in and tell them you don't have the receipt they will scan the item and your Redcard and generally you will get a refund (cheapest one if you had bought more than one).

I understand their rule. It wouldn't be fair to them that someone buys a book, reads it then returns it. You know their are people out there that do that. Just because the book looks unused doesn't mean it was. All my books look brand new and I've read them a couple times. I've even bought used books from a used book store and they look new.

But they do take them back with a receipt? I think that's a fair policy and smart in their interest.
