I just wanted to vent my mild frustration right now. I have approx. $19 worth of DST skins on my Xbox account, and after I've bought the game on steam I can't connect the two! I just found this a bit annoying, I really hope they add this soon since I saw it was available for Epic Games.

I was playing a lot on xbox for a while and missed some skins on PC as a result. All of my purchases on PC and skins earned from twitch drops are not available on xbox. I would LOVE to see account linking for purposes of synchronizing skins.

Makes no sense at all dude. And no you dont have to use your own back end to integrate being able to add people in game. Theres 0 need to make xbox and steam compatible here.

Just have an ingame database of user data which you can let players search trough and boom ur basically done.

Its not like were playing different games on different servers.

We just cant specifically target each other

Is there a way to do this in reverse because I have been following some other guy claiming he knows how and whenever I try to load up the game through xbox pc it crashes without a error.

Hello I was wondering if it was possible to install Steam OS on an Xbox 360. I am primarily a pc gamer but have an Xbox 360 sitting in the living room that I never use. Both of these devices are connected to the internet via Ethernet. My goal is not to try and use the xbox's hardware to play games but instead use steam in home streaming to play games on the xbox using my pc's hardware. I am not afraid to experiment and I never use the xbox 360 so if I brick it then it will be my fault but it will not be a big deal.

OK... first, you don't necessarily need to access any kind of BIOS or "boot from USB." you just need to be able to run unsigned code. second, the Linux kernel is open source, so you can compile it to run on any architecture at all. third, people can and have successfully run Linux on the xbox 360. this is why you shouldn't act like someone asking a reasonable question is stupid ... especially when you clearly know little more than they do but believe yourself to be intellectually superior. this has been a PSA from your friendly neighborhood angry nerd.

I'm using MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021) paired over bluetooth with Xbox Wireless Controller (STANDARD GAMEPAD Vendor: 045e Product: 02e0) according to result tested on -tester.com/ which works fine. Steam Big picture mode works fine. I test the following games with and without steam input support.

I have recently re-installed archlinux. In my previous installation controllers worked perfectly with steam, while unfortunately in this new installation steam is not detecting my xbox 360 wired controller. In big picture mode under controller settings it says: no controller detected.

What i have tried:

1. Installing jstest-gtk from AUR -> It correctly sees the controller

2. Checking permissions in /dev/input/event* -> the device is correctly created and with the right permissions (read for everyone) when i plug the joypad

3. USB Legacy support enabled disabled in bios -> both have the same effect (i have to keep it disabled for a bug with android debug bridge).

3. Alternatives to xpad:

- steamos-xpad: same behavior working in jstest-gtk not in steam.

- xboxdrv: working in jstest-gtk, in steam big picture mode two xbox 360 controllers shows up and inputs from my controller are detected by steam. Anyway some games doesen't detect the controller (not working: Grid autosport, Mercenary kings. working: Hands of fate).

About the button layout section in the config file, this is for a (perhaps crappy) xbox 360 controller alternative, not for an original Microsoft controller. I had to fix the button layout as it things were mapped to wrong button events by default. What's strange about that is that I remember that things were fine in the past with the xpad driver in the kernel. It looked exactly like a xbox 360 controller when that worked, button layout was the same. ff782bc1db
