If you're like most California teens, you are eagerly awaiting the time when you can drive. After all, driving means freedom. As for earning your drivers license, getting your hands on a pink slip is an important part of this process. But remember, access to increased freedom also means increased responsibility on your part.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles requires all teen student drivers finish an approved drivers education course like the DriversEd.com course in order to get their pink slip (Certificate of Completion). A pink slip qualifies the student to move on to the next step of the DMV license application process.

Drivers education courses are designed to introduce you to rules of the road and driving fundamentals. You will take lessons covering speed limits, right-of-way rules, sharing the road with other motorists and pedestrians, road signals and signs, the hazards of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, freeway driving, accident avoidance, parking techniques, and other important skills. This information will put you at an advantage when you begin your behind-the-wheel training.

A pink slip is proof that you participated in and completed a drivers ed course. It shows that you are on your way to becoming a responsible and safe driver. You must bring it with you to the DMV when you apply for a provisional license.

Are they going to do name check. Since Indian Lady didnt ask anything other than sibling details and height. Also they didnt ask for any other documents to produce.(Pink slip contains only case number). What do you guys think how long do I need to wait

My first guess is name check b/c of your name. Pink slips are usually resolved in 3-8 weeks, but in some cases it can take longer as well. Anyways, you need to wait for them to complete the processing and can track the status online using the case number on the pink slip.

I am trying to remove my sister's name from my car which currently has my name and her's on the title. I can't seem to find information on this at the dmv website apart from Notice of Transfer and Release of liability. Do I do need to change ownership? Or is there a specific form to fill out in order to remove my sister's name from the title of the car.

You can follow these instructions at the California DMV page and transfer the title. Depending on whether you and your sister are titled with AND/OR, you may need her signature to transfer ownership to yourself only. There is a $15 fee and the car needs to be able to pass emissions, etc. This is the exact same process as you would go through to sell the car elsewhere.

I've done this twice in my life. Once when removing my mom from a my first car once I had finished paying the loan (she co-signed for me) and once when assuming ownership of my grandpa's car after he passed.

The transaction is no different than a plain vanilla sale in the eyes of the CA DMV. In your case both owners would fill out the current pink slip and release of liability. You then fill out the transfer of ownership, transferring ownership to yourself. You and your sister are both the sellers, and you alone are the buyer.

Since 1 July 2008, the e-Safety Check has replaced the traditional paper-based inspection scheme. The e-safety check replaces the traditional pink slip roadworthy check and is carried out to determine the road worthiness of a vehicle.

All Authorised Inspection Stations now transmit the inspection report to the RMS electronically. It is a compulsory vehicle safety check required in New South Wales annually to obtain or renew vehicle registration. The e-safety check is valid for 42 days and can be used to pay your vehicle registration online rather than having to wait in line at an RTA branch.

On it, It was printed , In most cases may take 12 weeks... we are worried a lot, is it a rule that wife should attend along with husband ? I havn't heard this kind of concern anywhere till now. As per my openion VO was wrong, and she should not talk like that.

Later my wife filled out a questionnaire(education details, previous work experiences, parents details, husband name, US contact details). What they will verify for H4 Visa ? and How long the process may take ?

These kind of delays become common now a days, I believe VO intentionally delayed her H4 visa. As we did not attended together and my VISA also processed by her only.(based on the handwriting on 221g form , and how she looks like) , She mentioned during conversation to my wife" you know , your husband Visa process took 2 moths time"

My wife went for her H4 interview on Dec 20th and they barely asked her for any documents. They asked which company I worked for and then where our wedding took place and when. They also told her that she was qualified for a H4 visa and was asked to go to the next counter. At the other counter, the passport was retained but she was given a pink slip (221g - Pending administrative processing).

I've checked the status online and it says that it's still "Pending Process". She has a common Muslim last name. My H1B expires in Oct 2011 (my sixth year) and will be processing my renewal sometime soon after I get back.

Any one else in the same boat? Or have previously gone through this to let us know how the Chennai consulate typically takes to complete the "admin processing" when they do not require any additional documents??

When the VO told me to go to the other counter after mentioning 221g with no documents needed (I am working fulltime and been in the US for the last ten years first on F1 and then on H1), the only question asked by the Indian lady at the counter was the contact person at my company.

what happened to your case ? when did u get ur passport back ? I am in the same boat as yours and got 221G pink slip on 21st Nov in new delhi. they took my passport and no docs asked - i ve previous B1/B2, F1, L1B, H1B on my passport and been in US for 7 yrs.

I'm not familiar with a white slip. Pink slips was a term for ownership transfer as in "I'll race you for the pink slip." To perfect a lien you'll use whatever is prescribed by your state whether it is pink, white or a multi-colored title of ownership so that you can perfect your lien as the loan is consummated.

The funding amount varies from client to client as there are a variety of factors that influence what you can borrow when using a vehicle title as collateral. Pink slip title loans will generally require a car with a clear title that has been paid off, and based on that, you can expect a loan amount of $1,000 to $20,000.

Unlike financing offers from banks, credit unions, and personal loan companies, we know that most applicants for pink slip loans have bad credit and have already been denied other loan offers. If you own a vehicle outright and have valid insurance coverage, you should qualify even with a bad credit score!

Getting a loan for your pink slip is an attractive offer for many with poor or nonexistent credit, because you do not need to undergo a credit check in order to be approved. A low credit score can be a real obstacle in terms of getting a traditional loan from a bank or credit union.

Plus, in some states, you do not even need to show proof of employment in order to get a pink slip loan - although you will need to prove you have a consistent source of income, such as money from Social Security benefits or a disability claim.

Instant pink slip loans are a good way for people with few assets to get money. As long as they own their car outright and their name appears on the title, a lender will offer a loan based on a percentage of the current market value of their vehicle. Most of the time, a borrower will be able to get approximately 50-60 percent of the wholesale value of the car, but there is a possibility to get more money after an in-person inspection has been conducted. 152ee80cbc
