I've been wanting to learn how to produce music for the longest time, and i feel like i should start now or i'll never get to it. I often hear some piano melodies in hip hop and lots of samples are chopped onto keyboards. I was wondering if learning how to play piano, and read music translate into producing. Or are the skills completely separate? Also what kinda of training should i do? Would there be a specific type of training i should pursue? In music theory, these beats are grouped into bars (British English) or measures (American English). Each measure has the same amount of beats.
