I just bought the GlowLight 4 this week, and I was looking forward to downloading ebooks from my library. For the life of me, I can't figure this out. The librarian was not sure how to support nook devices either, so that didn't help. And while some other posts on this subreddit have helped me figure out how to open the library's ebooks on my computer, my nook won't open it. My nook just says "unsupported are not being displayed". So the ebook made it on the device (I can also see it on File Explorer on my computer), it just can't open it.

I will return this and just cave in and get a Kindle. I really wanted this nook to work out. I hate that Amazon runs/dominates so much of consumer goods. And there are so many Kindle options that they kinda blur together...the paradox of choice. I felt the lesser number of nook options made it easier to pick one out. The big plus with the nook is I can go and talk to a real human about my purchase; the local B&N help desk was super helpful when trying to troubleshoot my old, OLD nook. And I love brick and mortar bookstores...I was hoping to support one of their products.

How To Download Library Books To Nook Glowlight 3

Download File 🔥 https://tiurll.com/2y4yBW 🔥

I'm having an issue reading library books on my Nook Glowlight 3. I bought the Nook last year and have had ADE 4.5.10 the whole time. I've read tons of library books and haven't had any issues. All of a sudden I am unable to open the epub files on my nook because they are saying they're returned. I can open the files in ADE on my computer and in the Libby Library app so I know they haven't been returned accidentally. The only information I can find on this error is from 2015 so I'm hesitant to download an earlier version of ADE since the 4.5 version has been working for over a year without any problems. The issue is occuring for ebooks I've had on hold and ebooks I've borrowed immediately (I've tested a few). Anyone have some newer information on how to deal with this error? Or contact information for Adobe DE? I tried calling the regular Adobe Customer Service number and they had no idea what DE even is. -_-

My wife and I each have a Nook Glowlight Plus (Model BNRV510, which has the 6" screen not the 7.8" screen). I will refer to this model here as the "GLP6". For the past 4-5 years, we have each been using our GLP6s to get library ebooks from Overdrive, without any problem. But about 2 weeks ago, Barnes & Noble pushed out a new firmware update (v53.0.113), and as soon as that new firmware installed itself in our GLP6s, they both stopped working correctly with OverDrive ebooks. In particular, when we check out an ebook, download it to Adobe Digital Editions, copy it to the GLP6, and then try to open it, the ebook won't open and the GLP6 displays the error message "Error opening book. This book has been returned". Last week we contacted Nook Support at Barnes & Noble about this. Today, B&N sent us an email in which B&N confirms that the latest firmware update has a bug. More specifically, the email from Nook Support included the following statement: "Based on your recent inquiry, we are aware of an issue where your nook may not be able to properly transfer side loaded content and anticipate this will be addressed in a future software update". B&N did not say whether they are scrambling to prepare and issue that "future" update as soon as possible, or whether they are taking a ho-hum approach and might not issue that update for several months. Also, B&N did not offer us any temporary fix or work-around that we could use in the meantime. As to people who have posted here over the past few days, we wanted to share the fact that B&N has confirmed the existence of a bug in the v53.0.113 firmware for the GLP6 (which means that the source of this particular problem is B&N and not Adobe Digital Editions). B&N is probably paying no attention to this forum thread at Adobe. Therefore, if you are having this same problem, we strongly recommend that you make B&N's Nook Support group aware of it. B&N closed down its own Nook Forum back in 2017, but a phone number and email address appear at the bottom of the Nook Support page at the B&N website. The more Nook owners who contact B&N about this particular problem, the more attention B&N will give it, and the sooner B&N will get it fixed so everyone can get back to normal.

We have two 6" glowlight plus nooks that suddenly started doing the "Loan token" error. I spent an unsatisfactory half hour doing the tech support "chat" on the B&N webite and finally got a response of "Its a currently a know issue with the NOOK GlowLight Plus that our Digital team are currently working on." answer from them.

Thank you very much. I have done so, all good with ADE, but no luck opening the book still. Error message got on NOOK (again) is that it needs to be connected to wifi (which it is). I have never needed a wifi connection to open a book before. I have been able to open / read library books in the doctors office, hospitals, and everywhere else until now. Response from Barnes & Noble about that: "This issue has already been raised to the appropriate department. Our support teams have identified the issue and plan to have this addressed in an upcoming software update." However, once again, no ETA given on WHEN the upcoming software update will be released to fix the issue , or how they will communicate to everyone that has been completed (sigh).

BN just release a software update that fixed the "Loan Token" error. My NOOK GlowLight 3 is working again for library books. Update your NOOKS and please post if this fixes your problems - for future reference.

B&N has also now posted a firmware update for the Glowlight Plus 6" (GLP6), which makes it possible to again open library ebooks borrowed from OverDrive, thereby eliminating the error message that said "Error opening book. This book has been returned". Based on a quick test, it seems to be working OK.

With all the great new features of the Nook Glowlight Plus, there are a few things that I would like to change. The first thing is the light is on all the time unless you intentionally turn it off. I can't imagine this is good for battery life, but if you're trying to track down your Nook in a dark room, it could be helpful. With the previous Nook Glowlight, you had to hold down the "n" button to turn on the light. Second, if you could adjust the sensitivity of the screen that would be great since sometimes you press the screen to turn the page and it flips two pages instead of one. Finally, and I haven't experienced this myself because I get my books from B&N, but there are some compatibility issues with Adobe files, so if you get your books from a library or other places that distribute in a PDF format, then you might have a bad time.

Okay, I was going to buy a new Glowlight plus but I too have hundreds of books and the library issue is a concern. I was also looking for a front light ereader that is easy to check out library books on. Do you have any suggestions?

The GlowLight Plus is capable of reading Epub and PDF files, but not Mobi or AZW files (Amazon's proprietary format), so you're out of luck if you have an extensive Kindle library and want to switch to the Nook. The GlowLight Plus has 4GB of internal storage, which is enough for at least two thousand books, and all books purchased directly from Barnes & Noble are stored for free in the Nook Cloud. Barnes & Noble claims that you can get six weeks of battery life on a single charge, based on 30 minutes of reading per day.

Store and Reading

Once you power up the GlowLight Plus, connect it to Wi-Fi, and create a Barnes & Noble account, you can start reading or shopping online for books. All of your options are available at the bottom of the Home screen. Library shows your downloaded books, Shop brings you to the digital bookstore, B&N Readouts is a book discovery feature with two-minute reads tailored to your interests, and Settings and Search are self-explanatory. New and recent books in your library sit at the top of the home screen, and under that are suggested books based on your reading habits.

If you want to browse, say, classic literature, it will take some tapping around to even get into that general vicinity. Since the Nook will recommend books based on your library, the more books you purchase from the Nook store, the better your recommendations will be, so you won't have to search around as much over time. It doesn't quite match up with Amazon's Kindle store, which offers easier browsing and better curation, but it beats out Kobo in terms of selection. That said, the Aura H2O supports more file formats (ePub, PDF, and MOBI, not to mention a number of other image and text files), making it a better choice if you get your reading material from other sources.

When it comes to the physical design, there really isn't much of a difference between the GlowLight 4 and the Kindle Paperwhite when you look at them side-by-side. Yes, the Kindle's screen is larger, making it a larger device, but the front of the two devices looks very similar. The home screen layout is also somewhat similar, offering a grid-focused view of the books in your library. There are some differences, though, like the page-turning buttons situated on either side of the GlowLight 4 display.

If you don't want to pay the price for the ad-free version of the Kindle, then the GlowLight 4 isn't a bad alternative considering it's already ad-free from the start. However, you will have to deal with jumping through hoops if you want to sideload books. In addition, the Barnes and Noble library isn't nearly as extensive as Amazon's offering. Still, if you want a cheaper ad-free experience, or you're already tied into the Nook ecosystem, the GlowLight 4 does a good job of continuing the Nook's legacy while making it a little better.

As technology progresses, it becomes possible to do more and more via portable devices. One wonderful innovation is the development of e-readers, which allow users to keep multiple books on a single device, such as the Barnes and Noble Nook. You can even borrow books from your nook, an e-reader from Barnes and Noble, from your local library. All you have to do is get a library card, download the proper program to your computer, and navigate the online library. e24fc04721
