Emergency GPS Locator - Based on your cell phone signal, a GPS locator is activated during your self-initiated emergency communication. The registered profile information assists Drexel Public Safety in identifying, locating and assisting you.

Drexel Guardian is not a substitute for calling Drexel Police (215.895.2222) or Philadelphia Police (9-1-1). In the event of an emergency, users are advised to call 215.895.2222 or 9-1-1, as Drexel Guardian should not be used as the primary source for an emergency assistance call. Drexel Guardian is an optional back-up alert notification system that users may use at their discretion. As with any cell phone usage, certain factors (such as signal strength, type and quality of your phone carrier, and dead spots) can affect the GPS locator accuracy.

In the next step, you'll review your mobile number to ensure that it's correctly entered. At the same time, Rave Guardian will send your phone number an SMS containing a confirmation code. Enter the code on this screen, then tap "Confirm Phone."

The Rave Guardian app is available on both Android and Apple iOS smartphones via the links below. Simply download the app and follow the instructions to activate your account, which is tied to your Drake email address.

What if I forget to turn off my safety timer?

When using the safety timer, the user will receive a reminder text message 5 minutes before expiring. If it expires, a message immediately goes to your chosen guardian(s) and they can call your cell phone. If St. Lawrence University Safety and Security is your chosen guardian, they will contact you by phone and send an officer to your location to verify that you are OK or assist you if you are in distress.

Absolutely. When on-campus, you can contact CPPD by using 9-1-1 or 805-756-2281 or use any Blue Light phone. You can also walk in to CPPD, Building 36. When you are off campus, you will want to use 9-1-1.

Rave Guardian location information is only activated when the location setting is enabled on your smartphone.

@Beckyb: I have had a look into this for you, and can confirm that a similar feature to Guardian Mode can be found in the SmartThings app called 'Share this device's location'. On your child's phone, please follow the steps below

I would rather have the guardian mode staying as smartthings do not have the same options as the guardian mode and i certainly will not use them_ smrtthings because they use google maps! for navigation and it clearly states google collects data even from smartthings, the reason why people would use guardian is often because google is not respecting privacy and then samsung advertises new devices as safe and uncompromised in terms of privacy with even removing google maps from new phones but at the same time puts google maps on smartthings... just as bad as each other...

Similarly gutted to hear this. Literally used this last week after my wife's phone was "lost" on the beach. Being able to lock it down (to some degree), find the general area, and make it ring loudly made it possible to locate the people who "found" the phone. This would have been much harder without being a guardian. She leaves a lot of this stuff for me to sort (for her and the kids), without this delegated access it means password sharing and with 2 factor authentication from unknown devices, if I were to attempt to log into her account from my phone, I assume the secondary security code would be sent to her phone... which is lost....

I find this incredibly helpful when I am trying to get hold of my daughter but she has her phone on silent so I make it ring from the Guardian Mode and she knows I am trying to get hold of her urgently.

You can download the Bearcat Guardian app for free on the App Store or Google Play. Search for "Rave Guardian." After installing, ensure location and notification service has been enabled and register with your cell phone number and university email address.
