Reason I am trying to do this is, that I am working on a JSL script which in the end shall retrieve a whole bunch of data from a database and give out a multitude of visualizations for different process steps with mostly different legends. On top, I want to distribute it as an interactive html file. As there will be a lot of graphs and therefore a lot of scrolling, I would love to generate a Outline Box / Scroll Box alignment, where the legend and maybe some written information should stay visible (in a separate part of the window) when scrolling through the graphs.

which copies the legend Border Box to the clipboard. I can paste it to word for example and get exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I can't find a JSL command to paste graphics from the clipboard into a visualization. I tried it via "Get clipboard" in a picture Box Environment, but this command seems only to be working for Text.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do exactly, but Get Picture might be what you need. It gives you a picture object that you can then place into a JMP display tree. Here's an example from the Scripting Index:

I just wanted to add on to gzmorgan0's suggestion about many Interactive HTML files. One way to create an HTML user interface to reference several Interactive HTML files is to use File > Publish from the JMP's main menu. It will create an HTML user interface with thumbnails for your Interactive HTML reports. It can be automated in JSL using New Web Report. Here's an exerpt from the Scripting Index:

To get to your clipboard history, press Windows logo key + V. From the clipboard history, you can paste and pin frequently used items by choosing an individual item from your clipboard menu. Pinning an item keeps it from being removed from the clipboard history to make room for new items.

I need to copy what's stored in the clipboard to a variable in my python program. I've seen on Stack Overflow that that can be done either with pywin32 or tkinter. Since tkinter is part of the python standard library, I decided that that was the better of the two since the user won't have to install an external module. Here's the code for getting the clipboard data in tkinter:

A small disadvantage with using this Tkinter based method is that it uses a quickly hidden window which isn't ideal but this shouldn't be noticeable.

This answer uses content from my original answer on the Stack Overflow question How to copy/get an image in the clipboard with Python (I accept Tkinter for text).

Now, upon searching about this issue I realize what I'm trying to do is not as simple as it seems - clipboard API's in browsers are a tricky issue. I found several answers about this, the best one seems to be this:

Sadly bookmarklets nowadays usually run in the same context as active page, so it shares same restrictions. Currently JavaScript in page can only have access to clipboard when several conditions are met:

Tip 2: In the same way, you can: thisOutputMarkdown | pandoc -s -f markdown -t html | xclip -selection clipboard -t text/html to get formatted HTML to clipboard.

If you have the Markdown text on clipboard replace thisOutputMarkdown with xsel -b.

I needed this for my Emacs org-download-screenshot setup, so here's a Python script I made that depends only on Python 3.8 (no additional packages), xclip and ImageMagick convert: _image_from_clipboard

xclip wasn't working for me and I coudn't understand why until I realized that if you are running Wayland, for example in Ubuntu 21.04, you can't use xclip. You have to use wl-paste from the wl-clipboard package. For example:

There are usually two additional options on news sites called Copy and Nearby Share. If there was a Paste from Clipboard option on the three-dot menu, I could Copy the article to clipboard and then Paste it into a note. Would it be feasible to add this? thx/panterazero

I agree completely with @PinkElephantthat the webclipper is by far the best option. If that doesn't work for some reason (local html files are where it lets me down) there is already a global shortcut for "paste to EN". That means that pressing Alt+Ctrl+V (Windows) will paste the contents of the clipboard into a new note in EN without you having to go to EN, open a new note and paste. It also has the advanatage that it will make a sensible stab at what the title of the note should be. You get a nice little pop up meesage to say it's worked, so no need to maximise EN to check.

Wow, and I thought I already had enough of a treat today with Ctrl-Alt-. for Expand Font, rather than doing it from the droplist! I also downloaded the table of EN hotkeys and reformatted it, and my two remaining questions are: Is there any difference between Ctrl-Alt-V and Win+V, and if so, what? And, does Evernote need a pair of hotkeys for global conversion back and forth between return (Enter) and line feed (Shift-Enter?) thanks for the list of hotkeys!

I selected an area of a picture, copied it, then made a new document using the "new from clipboard command" and Affinity pasted my selection, but into a far too big canvas. It didn't take my command "new from clipboard" obviously. Could that be a bug?

If you have any FX, or Live Filters nested (in mask or clip position), that require any distance input, that distance will be added to the canvas when doing New from Clipboard. Happens EVEN IF the FX is set to inside or the filter has preserve alpha checked. And It will still happen if the Live Filter visibility is turned off.

It's also the case on Vectors.... with the added insult of, if a shape has an inside stroke the new canvas will be as big as if the stroke were set to center.

I guess I am still missing something because what your GIF shows is exactly what I expect (& get) from "New from Clipboard" -- the stroke is the same size & aligned the same way in the new & original document, & both have the same bounding box W & H values.

If there is an image on the clipboard (like after you've pressed the PrtScn key on your keyboard), use Effects > Fill > From Clipboard to tile that image into your current selection. If there is no graphic on the clipboard, you'll just get your original image unchanged.

If the image you wish to tile is instead in a file on your computer, use Effects > Fill > From File to tile it from your image file into your current selection. You can enter the path of the image in the text box or press the "Browse" button to select your image from a standard "file open" dialog box.

1. Is it possible to add a feature that will allow the user to start the tiling from the middle of the layer so that the edges will be symetrical at the edges (the top and bottom edges as well as the left and right edges)?

it says "If you are using Paint.NET 4.0 or beyond, download here: -" but when i go there and search for 'Fill from' plugin, then press "+" it goes back to - - making an infinite loop with no download "FillFrom...dll" files in the pack and in the relative theme are different

I just got a new computer from my employer with Microsoft Word Pro Plus 2016 installed. I noticed that the "Change Picture..." options have changed since my previous version of Word.

The build number of your "old" version is from July 2018 but I can't even find the build number of your "new" version ... it appears to be something before Sept. 2015. Check for updates on your "new" 64-bit version.

It sounds like you're looking for Photoshop-like features of this type, but Illustrator doesn't do that. You'll have to just start a new file of appropriate profile using File > New, then Paste whatever is on the clipboard, and finally, double click the Artboard tool and choose Fit To Artwork Bounds from the Preset menu.

Photoshop's dedicated internal clipboard (which imports from/exports to the OS clipboard, provided the applicable preferences are set as such), facilitates retrieval of simple height/width raster image figures, whereas the potentially much more complex arithmetic of vector graphics isn't quite so simple for Illustrator to gleen from the OS clipboard.
