I had previously done a manual copy via Windows Explorer of the folders and files to a 32GB drive that I've been using for the past 3 years since I bought my car. But much of the metadata and album art was missing. Also, it kept breaking every time I tried to add new files. I would have to re-format and re-build every time that happened...PIA!

I followed this procedure and copied all my music files from iTunes to my usb 2.0 thumb drive. I was able to copy them after a waiting a while but the formatting is messed up. I cannot display all of them by artist or album when viewing them through Windows Explorer or Windows media player on my usb drive. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

same problem here.....I have itunes 11.0.1 and couple of ipod classics (120GB and 160GB). I can see the devices in the itunes interface when connected but cannot see the contents (so cannot delete songs). Any ideas anyone????

The guy on the phone was telling me to do things, which anyone who's not dumb enough, would have tried already, such as selecting 'Manually manage music and videos' under the summary tag. And I did specifically mentioned that I sycned my whole libray for the sake of convenience as I didn't want to go through my library of 24 GB.

I'm seeing the same problem, as well as an issue where the phone orientation will occasionally cause only part of the widgit to be visible. Killing the app that was playing music (or video) has no impact on this.

Not only do i see this but when i connect my iPhone to my car via the USB it doesn't display all of the playlists i created and will not let me skip forward through the tracks using the car's controls.

Hard reset seems to be the only thing that works, but then it comes back. I am to the fu**ing boiling point now with this effing bug. Please Apple, fix it. I don't want to have to restart my GD phone 5 times a day because the music widget is on the lock screen.

Update: I reset my phone and went to a meeting. When I came out, the music player was on my lock screen. No bluetooth, no media was played. It just appeared. My next step is to delete the music app and reinstall it. But I think I'll lose all my playlists. ?

Not from iTunes program or app, but there are plenty of ways to play music in iTunes program (i.e. the iTunes Media folder) if actually stored by iTunes program on your My Cloud, OR as I do, I just copy that folder to my My Cloud NAS and keep it synced with the original iTunes Media folder. Then you can play that music on MC using My Cloud app, or many other apps out there.

Hmmm, My Cloud app is not one of my favorite music apps for a few reasons. An older version of the app used to have the playing one track only problem, but that issue was resolved over a year ago. Be sure you have latest version of iOS MC app installed. (Maybe uninstall and reinstall MC app.)

Just to refresh my memory, I opened app on my iPhone to my Shared Music folder of NAS, and played a track, and when track finished it advanced to next track and played it. As I said, the music on my MC is a copy of the iTunes Media folder arranged just like it is in the iTunes program (artist/albums/tracks)

The one iOS app I can use to play from playlists is called Belkin MediaPlay (found for free at Apple app store). It can play from them directly to iOS device OR, it can beam music to many devices (e.g. a TV; my TV is connected to stereo amp) and therefore plays music through TV speakers or a stereo. Also beams/plays movies (e.g mp4 files) and photos to TV as well. Another iOS app I like is called FileBrowser; costs $6 and worth every penny. It can cast to Chromecast device as well.

I even have distilled this down to using a pocket-size wireless flash drive (a Sandisk 64GB Connect drive) on to which I can copy the actual songs of a 100 song playlist to, and play them on my phone while I ride a bus to a sporting event downtown.

The more one understands how all this playlist stuff works, the more creative one can be with them. I hope I gave you some ideas to get the job done. Just forget about using the MC app for most tasks related to music. I sure do.

you can use Evermusic and connect to you My Cloud Home directly as described here: -tb-of-music-on-your-iphone-with-evermusic-and-wd-my-cloud-home Or if you have WD My Cloud Mirror - you can enable DLNA, WebDav, SMB and also connect to your server in this app.

To move my iTunes music to WD MY Cloud, I use an iTunes Music Converter to convert iTunes music to WD compatible audio formats first. Then I can easily move and save the music to WD My Cloud.

In addition, currently you can enjoy special offers of this tool in the Thanksgiving Party.

I have noticed in reading recent reviews of a number of music players and file-manager type apps that many have undergone recent updates under which users can no longer see separately-downloaded media files and/or have seen that the apps are suddenly become much more limited in terms of the folders/directories they can access in general. One gets the impression that "someone" is pressing these developers across the board to limit functionality in order to more tightly control operations of the type I (and many others, seemingly) are trying to do.

Enjoy the Android if that works better for you. But, this is why I'll stay with Apple. Apple security may not be as simple as the other platform, but in doing things they way they do (using iTunes for example to transfer music to your iPhone) ensures the data you have on your phone is the most secure. Sadly, Android has never taken security to the level Apple has.

Can I export all the songs from my iTunes library, put Beets to work fixing the tags, AND adding lyrics and artwork, then import the fixed up songs back into a new iTunes library (using iTunes own import function) in a way that iTunes will like so iTunes will (a) have said tags, lyrics and artwork and (b) so that the tag, folder and filename structure in the iTunes database will have the standard iTunes layout and naming scheme?

I am on Apple Music. And to convert Apple Music to Sandisk player, I use the Audio Converter for Windows to help me. With it, I can download and convert Apple Music as local files in other plain audio formats. Then I can sync the music to any other devices or platforms with ease.

Spotify is better. There are software like Spotify music converter Mac from Audfree which can help you download music to your mp3 player at high speed. No Spotify Premium required and you can get the music files with original sound quality preserved.

iTunes Producer (iTP) for music is a tool to help you prepare content for sale in the iTunes Store. Using iTP, you can encode your music into Apple Lossless Core Audio Format (CAF) files, upload cover art, enter album and track or ringtone details, and send your album or ringtone and all your prepared files as an iTunes Store package (iTP package) directly to the iTunes Store.

You can use your keyboard to perform many of the same actions you perform using the mouse. With full keyboard access, you use the Tab key, arrow keys, and Space bar to move to and select or enable items on the screen.

Open the iTP application by double-clicking the iTunes Producer.app icon in the Applications folder, or the folder you specified during a custom install. You are now ready to begin using iTP. For more information, see Sign in to or out of iTunes Producer.

Before you can use iTunes Producer (iTP) to create content for the iTunes Store, you must sign in to iTP using your iTunes Connect sign-in information. To prevent anyone from accessing your iTunes Producer account while you are away from your computer, you can sign out of your account.

Deselect Keep me signed in in the Sign In window, then quit iTunes Producer or, to change accounts, click the active user button in the iTP package window, then sign in using new iTunes Connect sign-in information.

The first step in preparing content for sale in the iTunes Store is to create an album containing the music you want to submit. You can select the music you want to include in an album from a CD, from audio files on your computer, from an existing iTunes Store package (iTP package), by looking up the metadata from an existing iTunes Store album, or by importing album and track details from a file.

iTP displays a provider button in the top left of the Template Chooser window indicating the currently active provider. If your account is attached to more than one iTunes Connect provider, you can use the provider button to choose the provider you want to use for the current package. Click the provider button to confirm your are signed in with the correct Apple ID, change providers, or sign out and try again. If you do not see any of the above activities in the iTP Template Chooser window, you might not be signed in with the correct provider or you might not have configured iTP for music delivery.

Use the Tracks pane to add the audio files containing the music you want to include in your album, and add track information (for example, title and version), lyrics, and rights and pricing. For more information, see About Track Details.

Create your album using metadata from an existing album when you want to update your metadata or assets and resend the package to iTunes. You can create your album by looking up the metadata from an existing iTunes Store album you previously delivered, editing album and track details, and updating the music you want to submit to the iTunes Store. 0852c4b9a8
