Is there any way to remove DRM from BBC iPlayer downloads programs to keep BBC iPlayer videos permanently without time limitations? I have downloaded some programs off iPlayer and want to remove the DRM from iPlayer videos, is this possible? The DRM on iPlayer programs is driving me mad! It won't even let me put programs on my MP4 player which ''works with BBC iPlayer''. How can I get around this iPlayer DRM in order to save the video permanently?

 Answer:

Is there an easy way to permanently record radio broadcasts, hosted on the BBC's iplayer, direct onto your hard drive and save as an mp3 file? I'm talking about the shows that are part of the "on demand" selection, whereby you get a week to catch-up and listen to it......not stuff that is actually playing live.

One other thing to bear in mind is that although the BBC turns a blind eye to get_iplayer usage, it is not in any way supported and is always susceptible to unexpected changes in the way the BBC streams its content. In other words, reliability is in no way guaranteed or even expected!

To make sure a site is always blocked, you can permanently add sites to the Blocked Sites list. You can block an IPv4 or IPv6 host IP address, network IP address or host IP address range, host name (one-time DNS lookup), or you can block a site by FQDN (includes wildcard domains). For more information about how to use FQDN in blocked sites and policies, see About Policies by Domain Name (FQDN).

In fact, BBC iPlayer provides a built-in downloader for its users to save the streaming video in their local disk. However, the downloaded videos will expire and be deleted automatically after 30 days. In this case, you may wonder the solutions below to record those BBC iPlayer videos and keep them on your computer permanently.

In Manager Career Mode I get messages from "Assistant" about a loan being close to ending so I should make it a permanent signing if I want to keep the player. But I can not find any option to sign the player permanently anywhere! The only option I have is to cancel the loan.

Would be good to finally have someone from Google explain what the hell they are doing as my front screen is littered like yours with bbc iplayer shows as we are Uk customers yet no app and Google appear to be the problem according to BBC would be nice if they finally have some sort of service to UK customers

I side loaded the iplayer apk yesterday and a few hours later they released the play store version. I think I'll look for, and side load, the All4 apk and you can all thank me when the official app is released later in the day.

same here, i posted about it yesterday. I bought from ebay Kuulmedia last week and not contacted him myself, my z7+ is hardwired into my brand new received yesterday rt-ac86u router, had same problem on my rt-ac68u router to although i knew nothing to do with my router i just needed to upgrade, my router also has crypto engine built into cpu which improves vpn connections dramatically, got fibre 76mbps down / 20mbps up (upgraded yesterday from 38mbps down / 10mbps up, running z7+ through the router vpn client (i use merlin firmware), tried multitude of servers. Playing on demand content thats already been broadcast i get no buffering at all but do get it in streamed live tv constantly as you describe, sometimes not as frequent but frequent enough to ruin viewing experience. get no buffering in kodi using same provider and m3u file, streaming from other apps, 40d, itv hub, iplayer, youtube etc other free streaming apps and again no buffering, i get buffering when not using vpn connection to, i changed streaming server location via my iptv provider account and again same, did a factory reset and software reset more than once. I am at a loss now tbh.

When you delete a photo or video from Photos on iCloud.com, it is also deleted from all your devices that have iCloud Photos turned on. If you change your mind, you have 30 days to recover it before it is permanently deleted.

This guide has been written in a step by step manner for beginners. If this is your first time here you really must go through the guide in this fashion if you are to understand and get the most out of get_iplayer.

To begin using get_iplayer, we should first search for the programme we want to watch. Once you have the programme in mind that you would like to see, we simply search for a programme using get_iplayer by typing the following:

It can be frustrating when get_iplayer downloads from the wrong channel! Sometimes programmes from different, or even the same, series are shown on different channels at the same time. This can be annoying as you may accidentally download something from a previous series you have already seen on TV.

We can set the output path of programmes get_iplayer downloads on a case by case basis. You can do this globally, but it makes more sense to do this on a programme by programme basis, particularly if you are trying to ensure the relevant XBMC and Plex folder structure conventions are met.

NOTE: Unless you opt to change the default value, the installer sets the location for recorded programmes to iPlayer Recordings on the Windows desktop of the administrator user who ran the installer. If you have multiple users running get_iplayer on one Windows PC, the other users will need to configure their own output folders with the CLI:

With version 2.95, the Windows installer no longer lets you specify an output folder.

The default is still %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\iPlayer Recordings, but the installer has been changed to properly handle multi-user systems, so the active user's desktop is always used.

In order to change the output directory permanently, you still use get_iplayer --prefs-add --output "" as in seagull's original answer.

TVJohn is incorrect - the --prefs-add option works just fine on all platforms, including Windows.

Also, the options file in C:\ProgramData\get_iplayer has been removed and should not be re-created.

Updated information for get_iplayer on Windows can be found here.

Well, here we go. First of all the iPlayer website loaded properly when I created another admin and logged in as the new admin. programmes downloaded as in recovery mode, but did nor try to connect as I had problems logging on to my VPN in new admin (but could probably do if needed). I would hope the problem can be solved without having to resort to new admin login as it felt like operating on a new computer with a lot of unfamiliar features and odd idiosyncrasies (e.g. bottom app bar is there permanently rather than only when you move cursor to bottom of screen)

HINT - Notice how get_iplayer doesn't have to refresh the available streams? This is because it did it in the last command. get_iplayer will remember the list for 4 hours, and then update the list if a new search is performed after this 4 hour time limit.

get_iplayer saves files to your current working directory as a default on both Mac OS X and Linux, whereas it saves programmes to the folder you specified when first installing if you're using Windows.

As a default, get_iplayer will download the highest quality version of each TV programme, so you DO NOT need to change anything or use any of the commands below if you are happy with having the highest quality version. By "highest quality" I mean the version with the largest video size.

The file path should go within the quotation marks. You are free to type out the location and get_iplayer will create it for you if it doesn't exist already, or it will simply add files to the directory if it already exists.

It's quite common to want to permanently change the location get_iplayer saves its downloaded files. For a complete overview of all output options take a look at the Output Options in the wiki, but lets take a look at a few simple and common options you can use.

This will have get_iplayer save all downloaded shows in the "2 - TV Shows" directory in the "TV Shows 1" disc. On Windows, the exact path will look a little different but I don't have a Windows install to show you directly.

I have a Samsung UE40ES8000 smart TV. Suddenly the iplayer, that starts up fine, will not let me select the episode from the available choices. When I get to this stage none of the arrows up or down or left to right work. I have checked tv for software and it is all up to date. I have also removed and reinstalled the iplayer but all to no avail. Bob

The only catch is that if you're travelling or not permanently based in the UK, BBC iPlayer will recognise that you're not in its catchment area and immediately block you. To bypass this frustrating blockade, you will need to use a VPN. These cybersecurity services can hide your real IP address and connect you to a secure server in the UK, which tricks BBC iPlayer into thinking you are based in the country. This quick and easy process maintains access to everything that BBC iPlayer has to offer. ff782bc1db
