I have been recording a lot of videos from my phone lately due to a new addition to the family and they don't convert very well to e-mail or for sending to other phones because of their file size; what device would I need to safely store them for future use so I don't run out of room on my cell phone itself?

When Blair looked down at her crushed phone, she wasn't thinking about the money. The loss she felt was far more devastating. Snapshots from the first six months of her daughter's life whizzed through her mind.

iCloud Photos keeps your photos and videos safe, up to date, and available automatically on all of your Apple devices, on iCloud.com, and even your PC. When you use iCloud Photos, you don't need to import photos from one iCloud device to another. iCloud Photos always uploads and stores your original, full-resolution photos. You can keep full-resolution originals on each of your devices, or save space with device-optimized versions instead. Either way, you can download your originals whenever you need them. Any organizational changes or edits you make are always kept up to date across all your Apple devices. Learn how to set up and use iCloud Photos.

Before we get to permanently downloading videos from Facebook, though, there may be times when you simply want to save a video within Facebook so you can more easily watch it later. Think of it like "bookmarking" a video.

You can't download a video to your phone using the ordinary Facebook app, but there are a number of third-party apps that make it possible to save the video directly to your phone's Camera Roll. One app that works particularly well for both Android and iPhone users is Friendly Social Browser.

I have a Nest camera and the Google Home app installed on an Android device (Samsung). I know *how* to download Nest videos from history to my device, but I do not know *where* the video is being saved. I would like to know the exact path to the folder on my Android device where the video is being saved.

Both websites work the same way. You'll need to use the Twitter website to copy the direct link to the tweet that contains the video you want to save, then paste it into the text field on either site, then click download.

SaveTweetVid will then ask you to pick from three different quality options. Click Download next to the size of the file you want to save and the clip will automatically begin downloading. Alternatively, you can scan the QR code at the bottom of the page to download the file on your phone or tablet.

With Download Twitter Videos setup, use the Twitter app to find a tweet that contains the video you want to save. Tap on the Share button and either select Copy link to Tweet or Share Tweet via. If you copied the link, leave the Twitter app, open Download Twitter Videos, and then paste the app into the text field at the top of the screen.

To view your downloaded videos, open the app and select the video you want to watch. You can then share it via another app, save it to your Photos app, or upload it to a cloud storage service for safekeeping.

After it's installed, open the Settings app on your phone or tablet and tap on Shortcuts in the list of options. Move the switch labeled Allow Untrusted Shortcuts to the On position. We have to take this extra step in order to install user-created Shortcuts that aren't listed in the Gallery section of the Shortcuts app.

Finally, with all of that done, you can save a Twitter Video to your Photos app with just a couple of taps. Open the Twitter app and navigate to the tweet that has the video you want to save. Tap on the Share button, and then look for Twitter Video Downloader V2.6 in the list of options; tap it.

The Shortcut will launch, and a few seconds later you'll be asked if you want your copy of the video to be high, medium or low quality. Select your option, and then let the Shortcut do the rest of the work. When it's done, you can find the saved video in your Photos app.

Note for iOS users: The first time you try to save a file, a message appears to grant the Blink app access to your photos. Tap OK to allow access for the Blink app to save files on your device.

If I'm in the Android app, I expect the same behaviour, because it's named the same download. However, that's not what's happening. Can we have some clarity as to why the download feature doesn't actually download the media to the phone? I have the same question for iOS. Basically it's nearly impossible to share a photo with someone (say via whatsapp, texting app) the way the Emby app for mobile(s) "downloads" media.

I really don't understand, why would you not design the app to save the downloaded media either in the Download folder (a subfolder - Emby) or a subfolder of DCIM (photos)?? This is pretty standard for apps that allow media download, it's easily accessible this way....

Maybe also related to this topic. i'm wondering with an iphon is it possible to download movies to to a SD card which is connected with a lignthing to sd card reader? this becauseIphones generally do nto have much storage capacity?

I also agree, that app should allow to download files to phone's gallery (Android or iOS). You may introduce additional setting maybe to allow/disallow user to do so, but obviously it's a must have feature. There is no problem to implement it from the technical end, for example this way.

My phone won't send videos (iMessage or otherwise) and when I try to screen record from instagram the screen recording doesn't save. I've never had any issues with either of these in the past, and didn't change any settings prior to this happening.

Using the Xfinity App, you can drag the timeline (directly under the video playback window) to any date and time you'd like to review and save (i.e. you don't need to just select from the list of motion events).

Once you begin playing video from the date and time you'd like to save, tap the arrow in the upper-right to download the file. You can repeat these steps multiple times if you need to save a longer event...

Pro tip: Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Story Controls and then toggle on Save to Camera Roll to automatically save all your Instagram Stories to your phone.

I have been given a second hand iPhone SE to replace a no longer so smart Samsung (almost ten years old, with a preinstalled MySpace). I have now installed Brave to the SE, but have had issues trying to save files easily as I would unto a computer.

Facebook also has a Save video option that appears when you click on the three-dot icon at the top of the video post. However, this does not really save the video on your device, but merely saves it on the app so you can watch it later.

I record videos while riding an electric unicycle. I like the app for simple reframing. I reframed a 30 minute video which took 5+ hours, found out it wouldn't let me export to the 256GB external microSD card in my phone for simple saving and transfer to pc. It was 18GB, I only have like 5GB free and it'd be a headache to backup and delete various apps and data. I tried to shorten clips to a few minutes, found out the trim function wiped out my other 25 minutes and left me with the 5 minutes of junk footage I wanted to trim out. I tried to Undo and found out you CAN'T?

All I could do was wipe all edits and lose the 5 hours of editing. I did that and saved the raw file to my pc. I setup and tried Premiere reframing but my laptop doesn't have dedicated graphics so it's laggy and I hate dealing with proxies and all that. If I could simply SAVE TO SD from my phone, this wouldn't be an issue. The other option would be to have it like a dashcam and save as 5 minute clips, which I could reframe, save to internal phone storage and upload reframed clips one at a time, which would work but still not as easy as saving to a damn external SD card.

Chat support confirmed I'm the only one to request saving to external SD card on phone app? Really? Is this not a known issue? Why hasn't the devs added this simple option? I actually really like the smooth reframing process, quick playback, easy to do while watching a podcast or something. If only I could save to a big external microSD card on the phone. Instead I'm stuck, the app won't allow me to edit my 30 minute clip and save, the editing via Premiere sucks, and I have no idea if or when my feature request for the SD card would eventually get added. ff782bc1db
