I had support on remote access to my Macbook for nearly two hours, and thought they had sorted the issue but on exiting the chat it actually seems a new profile / user has been setup on which lightroom works but on the user profile i was it to work on the problem still persists.
Thank you for this! So initially I followed all your instructions and unchecked the box, but every time I opened lightroom and tried to full screen, it still sat beneath the bezel. I thought I had to restart my M1 Macbook Pro and I did... but still nothing happened.
So as I was about to lose my mind, I found the additional solution: Step 2: After reopening lightroom, manually enter full screen by clicking CMD + SHIFT + F

I'm thinking to switch to Mac, and the base m1 macbook air is available for my budget. (256 GB ssd, 8 GB RAM). I've got a 2 TB external ssd, so the storage won't be a problem. I'm concerned about the RAM size tough.
I rebooted in safe mode and lightroom 6 still not opening. macbook pro 2018 running on mojave. If I uninstall and reinstall the software will I loose my data? And or do oi need to back up everything first, or simply reinstall?
I really dont like to report this because I think this is a failing of lightroom but the difference in performance between 32Gb and 64Gb is the difference between light and day.
