Hi, I was having the same problem and just figured it out. When I use the camera feature, in their app, on my Samsung phone to take pictures there is a small square at the top with two arrows in it, when I clicked on it changed the size of the picture to more of a rectangle and now I can crop any new picture I take. Hope your fix is as easy.

Hi, yes I just got off the phone with eBay. Had the same problem last night and this morning. Also found in a few forms that people could adjust their old pictures and crop them just not the drafts. So I checked that, And yes it worked. Also read that someone else used the search by picture feature, to speed up the listing process and when they stopped it worked again. I noticed that I had done the same last night and I wasn't able to fill in condition, it was missing. So I went from with the information I had and tried a test listing without using the search by picture feature and had zero problems. I could crop it, lighten it, do whatever and fill in condition. So I called the eBay again to give this information to update the ticket they started. So it definitely seems it somehow linked to the search by picture feature. They do have some tickets about it so far but the one person told me not many. Probably best if everybody lets them know.

I'm having the same issue. it worked perfectly and all the sudden yesterday it doesn't work. I'm not sure what to do because it doesn't work on two different phones. it seems like something is wrong with the ebay software. If it was one one but both? I'm going to have to contact ebay support.

Cannot change the profile picture (not the store picture) - I go to the Feedback profile page, and there's no "Edit Profile" button, as all of the instructions online say to do. This broke recently, as I was able to do this a couple of weeks ago, but not able to now.

I am trying to make a return for an item that I received (wrong item sent). Ebay asks me to upload a picture, but it won't accept any photo I upload. There's a 5mb size limit, all my photos are under 5mb. I've tried exporting a photo from photoshop in jpg, jpeg, gif, and png file formats which is what they ask for but all of them are not being accepted.

I just tried to message the seller to see if I could upload a picture to the message and it accepts it without issue. Problem is I still can't upload it for the return to get the return process started.

I encountered the same problem for, transactionId=2407470233011, itemId=325056418225. Strangely, the interface for just sending the seller a question, without category, that interface did allow me to attach pictures.

Same problem. I can find NO WAY to add the photo to the return request. And with out the photo, the ''confirm return'' button CAN NOT be pushed. This has been a problem for months, if not longer. I have to be FAR more picky about buying on ebay if returns are so difficult to process.

Yesterday, I got into a conversation with another seller via messaging about one of their auctions they had that was using my pictures of the same item. My pictures are ones I took, not stock photos or photos from other websites. Below is the conversation we had, but I figured I would ask my question here above the quoting - Can you use someone else's pictures without permission?

I'm sorry but I recently researched this issue with ebay. Once you upload your pictures to ebay they become part of ebay's catalog and anyone is allowed to use them. I actually called ebay myself a few weeks ago to question this about one of my pictures being used and they specifically advised me of this. I've been selling for over 15 years and just learned this last month. Good luck to you.

Please remove my pictures, as I have contacted eBay previously in the past and they have ended those auctions. I too have been selling for over 15 years, and I understand about using stock photos but these are my pictures on my table with my background and MY item.

Yes I know your frustration. I only started using other photos from other sellers a few weeks ago when ebay told me I could. I had a Disney Parks dress taken by myself in my own home and another seller put the same pic up. I called ebay and asked them and they specifically told me this. I was very surprised myself as I always thought it was copyright issues and they said no those pictures are now part of ebay's catalog and free for anyone to use. You may want to call them to ask them this yourself as I didn't believe it myself until I called.

I'll use another picture and replace yours now as I see you are upset and I don't want to do that. But please research this and I'm sure you will be as surprised as I was about the picture policy. It is good to know info moving forward with selling.

That's the key point. Other than being lazy why would someone use a photo of the wrong item. Multiple possible answers. Many of my items are unique and are coming from one of four estates. Of course I don't list most of them on-line as I have live in person sales. The sale this past weekend was fabulous! I saved $650 in shipping, pocketed $2,800 and paid no space fee. I do list a few things from Hollywood but I am careful about it. You won't find any movie worn costumes on ebay from me.

However, if there is no product catalog for this item, which I believe is based on UPCs or in this case lack thereof, then the seller needed to obtain my permission to use my pictures from my auction.

Listen to ME not others, I even accidentally noticed in the latest fall update Ebay reaffirms what I've always knew but still carry on ambiguously as you've seen. Having said that, forget about all that and understand copyright law has NOT changed. If someone is using your pictures you do not have to ask ebay or them or if it is okay. File a DMCA take down via vero and if you use the proper affirmation and sign it which is as simple as using a form Ebay is OBLIGATED by FEDERAL LAW to remove it. You do not have to prove anything. You are not ASKING ebay if they can do something, you are TELLING Ebay what to do. There is a world of difference. It is your right. Ebay has been dabbling with catalog blah and figure that most people are ignorant and or wont care. Thing is, if you do care they will HAVE to act. There is no exception once you file a take down notice. They would lose safe harbor to act otherwise. Trust me. I have done this 100's of times on Ebay and elsewhere.

This has happened to me too where another seller not only stole pictures and the description, but actually left our store's name IN the description. Although nothing on eBay is intellectual property, they will step in if your business is mentioned in either descriptions or on photo watermarks. Every time this has happened eBay has stepped in and removed the listing. So, it IS possible under certain circumstances but I'm going to echo the other posters on here and say that eBay couldn't care less in most cases.

They do more than that...

They don't just copy the pictures, they actually steal the product as well and it's so bad they take ebay products and put them up on Amazon and now even Walmart allows it.

If you have a unique product that you manufacture by hand one by one and suddenly your sales start to drop? Chances are someone stole it and is now undercutting you with a cheap imitation counterfeit of their own.

you are wasting your time, i have lost all my sales because someone is using my pictures for a product that is not the same standard as mine and selling them as mine, they told me they can do that ..so the may as wellof said tough, i will probs remove my items and save the fees

Hello everyone, I am new to selling on eBay and wanted to add a more personable aspect to my account. I was trying to figure out how to change my profile picture, something so simple but I couldn't find anywhere to do that, can anyone help? Thank you for your time.

Successful item photos will make your listing more attractive. According to eBay's research, listings with better photo quality are up to 5% more likely to sell*. Every buyer wants to look at the details before buying, even if they order online. Give them this opportunity: make your pictures worth more than 1000 words and the buyer will come back to you over and over again. e24fc04721
